While in Kosovo I met an Albanian family in Istok who had to flee to the mountains during the Milosevic scourge under threat of death from the Serb police, only to return to find their house and barn burnt to the ground and all their possessions taken. I highly doubt this family has anything to do with these actions but it does bring to mind a question.

Are these thefts of property that was given to these Serbs to get them to return or are they acts of reclaiming what was once theirs? If you steal my plow and then a few years later I steal it back, who is in the wrong??

How long are they going to be held in prison though? And was the Montenegran a Muslim?

A very interesting post amid the claims of "hate crimes"! If you cannot see the irony and the fact it so very pathetic, you have my sympathies.

It really highlights most of the messages calling for stricter penalties because they were crimes committed against "Serbs"

Funny to think, stealing a tractor, a trailer and a cow are hate crimes, especially when there is a Serb and a Montenegrin among the perpetrators of this criminal gang. Who do they hate? The cow or the tractor? Was it a "Serbian" cow or tractor?
============================
Where did you read that one is a Serb? Montenegro is infested with Albanians so the Montenegrin is not likely to be a Serb.
Theft, assault or property damage can be hate crimes if the motive for them was racism and hatred for the other side.
There is no such thing as a specific crime being a hate crime. What makes it a hate crime is the motive but I think you know that already. Just trying to confuse the issue now, right?

Just convicted would be a huge step forward. These are hate crimes and should carry stiffer penalties. Let's wait and see what happens next.

The robberies are to gain material benefit, regardless of the "ethnicity" of the stolen money.

Yes, it's good news, it makes me happy to read, but it only gives hope when those people will be sentenced to a year in prison at least and are NOT temporarily released until their court proceedings begin.

"This is very good news, both for me and the institution headed by me that cares for returnees, as well as for the returnees themselves. It is good news because it gives us hope for a better tomorrow, while it sends a clear message to the offenders that no one who commits an offense shall go unpunished."
