@Croat:

After reading one of your comments you do realize that Croatia & Serbia aren't the only predomanantly Christian nations that fought one another,so having mentioned that and as few examples,in the 1st World War both the Allies & Central Powers consisted of predomanantly Christian nations just like the same for World War 2 when it came to the Allies (except China & India) and the Axis (except Albania( though I think read somewhere that it had a falling out with Germany & Italy),Japan including Manchuko (China's Manchuria as a Japanese "puppet state") and Thailand (though it may have been a coerced and I believe a temporary ally to Japan.)Just thought that it be imperative in pointing out these facts or what I presume to be the facts.

Spin away crackheads, you know your rocking the bowl and reading this.

No doubt you are also talking about the same Serb crackheads who are responsible for "Ethnic cleansing and genocide( removal, deportation of a race of peoples )" of all non Serbs before 1995.

I mean you wouldn't want to be seen as a HYPOCRITE would you !

It is fact that the majority of the people killed in this operation were armed. The other fact is that this was not an act of ethnic cleansing or genocide because these people left if their own accord. The shame of the Serbian people is that they love to exaggerate the victim card. They disregard the facts for personal/political gain. Case i point is Jasenovac where Serbian Witnesses have confirmed that it was a labour camp & not a death camp. You will find that once exhumed - the DNA from the bodies of the victims will prove this & it is also going to become apparent the the majority of people who dies at Jasenovac were kiled in the days, months and years after the war ended where it will then be confirmed that they were Croats killed by the post was communist regime.

Remembering the oppressions and persecutions helps the healing. The son of God teaches. Forgive us as we forgive. Matthew 6:12. And in verse 14 and 15, teaches,(in the scripture without error(but has 30-32 apparently contradictory texts) and has a rule of interpretation. Isaiah 28:9,10) ) that one needs to forgive to obtain forgiveness. But the Word also states, to hate sin! One doesn't have to hate people. Isaiah 63 prophesies about the work of the Christ, and verse3 states ,"my fury,it upheld me". So Christ has love. correct love. and hate, correct hate! There is no need to forget either.
and who is more guilty, they who commit the atrocities, or the priests who 'forgive' them? even the priests are held by strongholds. Paul states in Ephesians 6:12,"For we wrestle not against (people) , but against principalities and powers" etc. so it comes down to wrestling in prayer. pulling down strongholds--2 Cornthians 10:4. And there is no Bible law against self-defence.

From LK: "but Krajina Serbs should have just accepted that they would be minorities in a new Croatian state and not started an armed rebellion, and instead solved it through a political dialogue and process."

Oh really, LK. The Tudjman regime renamed streets after Ustasha war criminals and even invited some of them back to the newly independent Croatia such as Dinko Sacic, commander of the Jasenovac death camp that slaughtered 700,000 Serbs. Serbs were fired from their jobs after Tudjman was elected, their homes vandalized and many were killed. And you say Serbs should have just accepted living in a newly independent Croatia. The same Croatia who tried to exterminate all Serbs living there only 50 years earlier.

And then you say they should have pursued a political dialogue. Why then didn't the Croats follow the political avenue. Instead they armed themselves to the teeth, then broke international law and the Yugoslav constitution with their premature secession. Croats wanted war and they got it. Serbs did not start the war although the Croatian gov't. paid US PR firms millions of dollars to make it look as if they did. Look at the facts.

From Croat: "Croatia was occupied, Serbia was not occupied. Croatian troops never crossed the border into Serbia... There was never a single bullet fired over Serb land...every country has a right to defend itself."

Didn't the Serbs who had lived in the Krajina region for more than 500 years, have the right to defend themselves? Funny, you try to portray yourself as a tolerant, forward-thinking Christian, yet fail to mention that the newly established Croat gov't. under Tudjman invited Ustasha war criminals back, began firing Serbs from their jobs and sat idly by as Serb property was destroyed and many Serbs killed. Did these Serbs not have the right to defend themselves? And this was long before any JNA troops fired a single shot.

And then you mention Bleiburg. What about Bleiburg?? Thousands of Croat Ustasha Nazis were killed by Yugoslav Partizans, who incidentally were led by Tito, a Croat who delivered the country into more than 4 decades of communism. No to mention many, many Croats were in the ranks of the Partizans. Your comparisons fall dismally short of the mark.

Here's an idea to start the reconciliation process: why doesn't the current Croat gov't. acknowledge the crimes committed by the Ustasha against the Serbs and apologize for their attempted extermination instead of denying and minimizing what happened. And since you seem to be a religious person, an apology from the Catholic church would also be in order. Don't worry, I won't hold my breathe.

"just alone over 100,000. children were killed not including woman"

Stop these disgusting lies because all they do is create more hate and show a lot of disrespect to the actual children who died there by inflating the numbers that high.

"Funny how they beat their chests in triumphant patriotism when their military goes up against civilians but they still weep and cry "genocide" when anyone mentions Vukovar."

Military went up against the same 'civilians' who took up arms against Croatia. Vukovar civilians fought back out of necessity because they were the ones being invaded.

Serbs like to carry on about the hundreds of thousands that were forced to flee at the end of the war but what did you expect? The Serbian minority started a war against the new country they were in, once they lost they were kicked out to prevent it from happening again. Yes the Serbs were there for hundreds of years, but the Croats were there for much longer.

The sad fact is that many innocent people lost their lives and regardless of where they were from I hope they are all with God.

What else could of been done? We Serbian people are the guilty ones arn't we! From ancient times we lived peacefully and owned our homes and land and then we are told that we are trespassing on foreign Roman Catholic Empire and Islamic soil! So all those centuries passed and we Serbians thought we were inside the borders of our own nation? So then we are told by Islam and the Roman Catholic Empire that we are not welcome any more but where can we go now that for centuries we lived on our lands and homes that we bought and paid for and also paid real estate taxes on for ages? So the only thing that could be done with us is the Final Solution! Germany at the leadership, organization and planning, USA and England with the strong arm and military power and finally the Blessing from the Roman Catholic Empire and Islam! We Slavic Eastern Orthodox Christians really pay a big price to Satan for the profound love that is so deep within our hearts to our Lord who was Crucified and so Holy in the Kingdom of Heaven! What rights will any Slavic Eastern Orthodox Christian in Europe have if Satan is permitted to grow and expand? So we Serbian people do not have permission to defend our liberty, property and our lives? Good job USA, England and Germany, keep it up, you all think you will live for ever, only God will exist for ever!

Croats love to celebrate victories in which their army took control of territory a few days after JNA pulled out and after an agreement was reached with Milosevic to do so. Entirely preventable and not justifying any crime that took place, but Krajina Serbs should have just accepted that they would be minorities in a new Croatian state and not started an armed rebellion, and instead solved it through a political dialogue and process. It just wasn't worth the bloodshed. Everything would have been better. Of course, Yugoslavia should have stayed together because it would have probably been the most successful and prosperous of the former communist countries in Europe, but nationalism was more important than having a good life. Now every former Yugoslav republic is worse off than before. Stupid wars caused by stupid politicians.

I am Croatian. Many bad things have happened in that war. Croatia was occupied, Serbia was not occupied. Croatian troops never crossed the border into Serbia... There was never a single bullet fired over Serb land. With that being said, every country has a right to defend itself.

The problem is that there is always going to by "my side of the story vs. your side of the story." It all depends on which newspaper you are reading. We all know this to be true...

Also, in EVERY army, and this was true throughout human history, there is always going to be some good people and some bad people..on ALL SIDES...

We must recognize these things to be true. As Christians, we are called to love our neighbors and be peacemakers. We are fighting for land, and making an excuse that we are fighting for our religion? If we followed the teachings of Christ, we would have moved on to a different topic a long time ago. I live in America. U.S.A. is planning to send people to Mars ---- But main topic of discussion in the Balkans is still: Ustasa/Cethnik/Partizan/Domobran... we are 70+ years always going backwards.... Jadni smo mi svi ako ovako nastavimo....

We should respect eachother, have peace... if someone gets out of line absolutely then we should defend ourselves, but we should work towards progress...

Is this day celebrated to keep in mind the effects of the last war, or to keep in mind a future war?
This is the most important question, i think.
