Opposition: Belgrade Waterfront is "scam of century"

With that money, instead of Belgrade on water, renovate historical buildings and Streets to attract tourists and money will remain.

Vucic is a traitor and he is pimping Serbia around for these sheiks which are only, apparently, going to take full advantage of Serbian taxpayers' money and not live up to their investment promises. Sounds similar to all the privatizations done in the last 14 years, where the buyers get it at a bargain price, then dismantle the parts, selling them and earning more than they bought it for, and then leaving and empty warehouse and people out of work.

The only people that this project will benefit is the Arabs and of course Vucic himself from the kickbacks that he'll receive from his pretend Arab friend. Belgrade waterfront is a complete scam and, if it is not stopped Serbia will end up as a third world country (which it is close to being anyway.
Alexandar Vucic is a very disturbed and twisted individual who frequently displays signs of mental instability and Sinisa Mali is quite obviously his little lap dog who fulfills Vucic's every request. These people have little to no interest in the true development of Serbia, their only focus is to show everyone what they can personally achieve by abusing their position of power which is a weird trait and insecurity complex that most Serbians suffer from, along with the fact that the English embassy is also pulling strings as it has done for many years in this country for it's own gain.
The biggest mistake that the Serbian people make is that they appoint the same idiots who have a proven track record of previously raping, pillaging and ruining the country into positions of power then, the cycle starts over again and the country is again raped and pillaged.
Vucic, Nikolic, jovanovic and all the rest of these old time criminals should be thrown out of government and then perhaps things may change. As it stands though with Vucic and Nikolic at the helm Serbia can count on going down with the ship as the current fragile state of the economy is headed for total disaster.

I am not sure if it is a scam. Such massive projects take time to complete, infact they take a lot of time to start. We will know in a few years if anything will come of it. A few years ago there was much talk about Fiat starting production at Zastava motor works. This talk went on for many years and I denounced the talk as propaganda. I was wrong and Fiat are producing very fine cars in Serbia. The land around the Railway station and the Sava is mostly wasteland and has been like that for at least 50 years. If the project goes ahead it will be good for Serbia and Belgrade and for its Arab investors. Have the Arabs got a good deal? Probably, but Serbia has to offer investors above average returns or they will invest in more secure and prosperous countries. I am not entirely happy with the look of Belgrade Waterfront, but whatever they build will be better than what exists today, and if nothing is built then it might stay as an urban wasteland for another 50 years.
