You are right there is no USSR army but there is still a very strong Russian army, and a leader that it is evident wishes to rebuild the USSR.

That the Russians managed to chase away the Tartars ruling over Russians I think is as it should be.
So the Russians avenged themselves upon the Tartars and went Eastwards to the border with Canada doesnt bother me.

The Russians/Moskovians are not Slavs so your mentioning Slavic populations Eastwards is not correct.
But yes - Slavs from Novgordskaya Rus and Kievskaya Ros helped the Swedish Vikings from Ros to establish MOscovskaya Ros.
Many Slavs and Swedes mingled with the Moskovians and became their first Rulers.
