Hey, you don't become a politician to drive around in a common man's car. The idea of civil service in the Balkans is to get rich and look good doing it. If people don't have jobs or food to eat, the least their elected officials can do for them is drive in style.

He further stated that while a Romanian car would be good enough for "communal police and (vendors of) Rainbow vacuum cleaners," it was "not for a president."

Yes. Not for a president. But for a 'municipal president' like this guy it's more than enough. I think the head of that municipality is the head of less citizens than a mayor of a medium size city. Ridiculous. He should get a bicycle instead.

Anyone knows what type of car was? Dacia is the name of the brand (actually, is Dacia Renault, since Renault is the owner of the brand and the factory in Romania). But what type? A Logan? A Sandero? Or maybe a Duster, SUV?
Regards from Romania!

Good point, Nenad. The president of this small municipality is making it known that if you attempt to bribe him then make sure you bribe him big. A modest car is almost an insult. Only in the Balkans.

(Nenad, 14 April 2015 13:18) a municipal official doesn't even hide the fact that he is taking rather large bribes.

Nenad, are you surprised? The Bosniak party in Montenegro has always been an ally of US supported Đukanović where bribes and graft are rules rather than exceptions.

The more interesting part of this story is that we see where a municipal official doesn't even hide the fact that he is taking rather large bribes.
