This is kind of funny. Serbian newspapers in Serbian say they ended up in the hands of mafia. In English they say they are funding terrorists.

Serbia has far more problems to deal with than being concerned about a false article that has no grounds to begin with.

An official attached to the World Customs Organization speaks at a meeting discussing an organized operation of 43 countries set up to specifically target smugglers of art and cultural heritage items.

43 countries ... sounds valid to me.

simple as that

What you say is true, Serbia has a choice of who or what direction they take, and they do not have to cut bridges to other directions. But they have committed toward the EU and have accepted billions in aid on that premise, that is a problem. If they want to give up the road to the EU, it is simple quit taking the money. But I would not expect that kind of money incoming from anywhere else. Funds from China and Russia are merely drops in the bucket of what Serbia is getting from the west.

Serbia should look everywhere, China and Russia included. I'm not anti-Western, I just don't think it is Serbia's fate to play the role of colony/client state that Albanians, Croats and Bosnians are quick to assume whenever there are large empires in the Balkans.

St. Sava says look east & west. If we can't have that, then Serbia shouldn't exist anymore. Today, China and Russia don't seem to mind Serbia's relations with the US & EU. It's the Atlantic institutions that consistently pressure Serbia to accept vassal status of her neighbors.

@ARI

Sure we have plenty of anything to point out, but we simply won't waste our time with someone who consistently tells serbians to look towards east such as Russia and China, and at the same time he lives a comfortable western life some where in the western hemisphere. You are a hypocrite simple as that... now keep on convincing Serbs to do the things you cannot do.

Well why aren't they stealing ancient Albanian treasures in Kosovo-Metohija? Because there are none. The most historic institutions and oldest remains in Kosovo-Metohija are Serbian. I've consistently asked Albanians to point to me to one building, one monument one anything that is older than Serbian Orthodoxy and they can't.

Some time in the 1990s I saw a BBC News report from Kosovo. The British "reporter" was talking to an Albanian who was pointing at old Serbian Churches and saying that they in fact Albanian. The Serbs, he said, had come to "Kosova" and had taken their land and Churches. I guess by this logic these icons are Albanian and are being sold by their rightful owners. This is the sort of tripe we get from the BBC.

This report makes no sense. Someone makes a statement that these items were sold to finance terrorism? In order to make such a statement certainly there must be some knowledge of the names of individuals that sold these items and where these items are sold and the trail of the money. Specifically what terrorist groups were supplied with this money?

But the other thing that strikes me as odd is the 24 instances where Serbian customs confiscated precious art and artifacts being smuggled out of other countries. It points to a severe problem of Serbia being a major route of art smuggling. Much like its role in smuggling immigrants into the EU, and the route of drugs. It is almost as if being a customs officer or border guard in Serbia must be among the highest income "earners" in Europe.

What else did you expect? That the Kosovo Albanian criminals who looted and raided the churches and monasteries will keep the artifacts and set up a shrine for them? Since this has been an orchestrated thing, it was not done by local thieves, but the the mafia/KLA or whatever criminal group ruling the life of people in Kosovo.

Every article written by serbian medias is true, and nothing but the truth. Srbija is known for its honesty, and unbiased attitude towards it's neighbors with no score to settle.

Serbia needs to to focus on the real issues, such as implementation of agreements reached in Brussels. Serbia has far more problems to deal with than being concerned about a false article that has no grounds to begin with.
