With the high prices the Serbian government charges to fly in and out of Belgrade, it will still be cheaper to take the train up to Budapest and fly out of there.

That's fine, and it's nice that there's a flight between Toronto and Zagreb. But if that's the only flight, it's really pathetic, isn't it. How many North Americans are going to fly to Toronto to then take a direct flight to Croatia, and how will that help add nearly 2 million (???) tourists to Croatia every year.

Love always,
(The B92 Lenard Fan Club, 27 March 2015 14:59 My dear slow witted Serbs. Croatia in 2014 had more then 13 million tourist. January/February 2015 tourism is up 14.1% http://dalje.com/en-croatia/tourism-minister--this-year-will-be-better-than-last/539602 from same time last year. If it keeps pace for all of 2015 at that rate it will add more then 1,800,000 extra tourist. Tourism from North America is increasing at 14.2 percent to Croatia. That is why more carriers are interested opening direct roots to Croatia.

This is very good news for the Albanians flooding out of Kosovo. They no longer have to risk the Serbia-Hungary border only to be sent back.

They can fly directly to the United States who will welcome them with open arms (maybe M-16s?), all be given jobs and an automatic Green Card.

"Exactly what makes you think that anyone on a serbian website cares about Croatia or you croats? As far as we are concerned you are TOTALLY unimportant, we dont care about you nor your opinion. You are 0 to us.

Some of us care about Serbs, Croats, Bosniaks, Montenegrins, Macedonians, Slovenians, and even Albanians and other minorities in the region. We love the region and all of its people regardless of the past.

lenard sweetie, we know that you are only capable of focusing on a few things, all of which revolve around Croatia. That's fine, and it's nice that there's a flight between Toronto and Zagreb. We love you because you're a ridiculous buffoon who makes no sense. Half the time we can't even figure out what you're writing, but dammit keep it up. You're a great source of laughter.

Great news if it happens. Air Serbia is an ok airline having flown them a few times in recent years. One problem i find with them is no entertainment system. 6 hours from Abu Dhabi and it was the most tedious part of my trip. For this venture to suceed serious money must be spent to make the flight more bearable. Good luck Air Serbia.

Lenard- I could barely understand what you are writing. Next time please explain to a native English speaker what you are trying to convey so maybe there is an understanding of what you are trying to communicate.

Also, it appears you are saying that this is not the first direct flight? That is true. Except, it is the first national carrier. Chicago to Belgrade flights have sporadically occurred, but those have all been on what you would call a charter airline. Any flights from Canada to Croatia are also on a charter flight.

The rest of your post is just nonsense and nebulous. Ok, we get it, you think people want to go to Croatia for tourism, don't understand what that has to do with this article. Just trolling.

Direct flights between Toronto and ex-YU cities were previously attempted and failed economically. Skyservice Airlines previously operated a YYZ-ZAG route once per week on a seasonal summer basis in 2007 and then stopped in 2008. Generally, the labor costs for a North American carrier exceed those for a YU-based carrier; we'll see whether JU can leverage lower operating costs to sustain profitability on regular trans-Atlantic routes.

"This agreement is the realization of one of the most important goals in the development of the national airline and will result in linking the two economies, additional employment, development of airport infrastructure, as it will encourage the construction of another runway and new passenger terminals.

All this will boost the value of the Air Serbia brand, while Nikola Tesla Airport will become attractive to potential investors and a real regional center, which will additionally contribute to a significant increase in transport of goods to America,"
