You are a very recent interloper on B92, but I have posted since 2008. Right after the GFC whenever I mentioned China, the response was incredible from your lot. China was not supposed to take over from the US for another 40/50years, but thanks to George Bush and his spending the US is stuffed big time. Yes, the sanctions on Milosevic's Serbia were right. Its exclusion from the UN too.
The ambassador is not being diplomatic though if he says: "But we believe that we made the right decision when we introduced sanctions against you,". He needs to make the distinction between what kind of country Serbia was back then and what kind of country it pretends to be now. Not just say against "you" but against "Milosevic's regime". Or were his words changed by the journalists?
We all know that WW 1 and WW 2 occurred in Europe, because some of the European Leadership was not a Dog Free Zone, and the European Union was said to be set up to be a Dog Free Zone with regards to its Rulers, and to follow the Principles of Democracy.

US Ambassador , we are not stupid.The real reason you carried sanctions and then war against Serbs and carving the Kosovo out of Serbia are: the inexhaustible natural resources of the Kosovo: 77,302,000 tons of coal, copper, zinc, lead, nickel, gold, silver, marble, manganese, iron ore, asbestos and limestone – to name but a few.
The value of these mineral resources is estimated to be over 10 trillion dollars and these extremely valuable resources in the hands of the local workers represented the real reason for the military interference of the West in 1999 with the controversy between the Yugoslavian army and the UÇK. Additionally, the UÇK had been trained for years and supported with millions of dollars and German Marks by the West through its secret services CIA and BND, trained for this war, which is still misleadingly called a “civil war in Yugoslavia”. During the NATO war against Yugoslavia, the whole infrastructure of the country was destroyed, but the Trepca mines in Kosovo were spared from the bombings.
Not to mention Bondsteel... etc.

These criminals became or financed the tycoons who continued to wreck the economy during the last 15 years. They along with the political parties set up a system that enabled them to suck money from the state and create monopolies. Was this really the best way to try to bring down Milosevic and his cronies?
In Russia the situation is different since the criminals already run the economy and the state so capital is already in the wrong hands.

The rise of China can only go so far. Their economy depends on American consumers with no one with near the purchasing power to take over if we go away. As long as America is around to buy crap. You are a very recent interloper on B92, but I have posted since 2008. Right after the GFC whenever I mentioned China, the response was incredible from your lot. China was not supposed to take over from the US for another 40/50years, but thanks to George Bush and his spending the US is stuffed big time. Most others knew that China was on the rise except for the Albanians. That’s why I mentioned this fact.
