I think this is symptomatic of how far the present regime is willing to sink. Let me get this straight. You invite a man and his former master, responsible for the wholesale destruction of your country and both vilified at home, to lecture you about good governance and how to speed up the process of joining the EU. These men are callous mercenaries with deserved reputations for being thoroughly unpleasant individuals during their time in government and since. A sick joke indeed.

"I got the sense the government is serious about the reforms needed to make progress towards membership of the EU."

When reading this, Serbs will think he is talking about aligning processes and laws so that Serbia can operate seamlessly with other EU countries. But that is not what this NATO man is referring to.

The reforms needed to gain EU membership mean putting foreigners in charge of your economy (witness the Sartid fiasco), foreigners to control your military (join NATO and fight in their wars around the world), foreigners to control your political process (allow Brussels to make all your laws and remove those Serbian laws they don't like), and foreigners to control your culture (abandon Cyrillic, change Christmas to 25th Dec, keep the National Museum closed forever so young Serbs believe Serbia was invented by the DOS traitors and nothing existed before.)

The only way to join the EU is by comitting national suicide. Britain has done it, and I wouldn't recommend this to Serbs.
