sj,
As this could go on all day, I tire of the conversation. I will leave you with this, one of us reads about life in the US (apparently with every waking moment) and one of us lives it. I have traveled to 26 countries including Australia, I have yet to find a place I would rather call home, nor a place that I have found the living standards to be equal.
While there is no perfect democracy, I have found none that compare.
I want no more wars but would support my country if one happens. I understand the fear of Russia with the closeness of its border countries to the west, if you remember the US dealt with that issue in the early 60s with the Cuban missle crisis, but that was resolved and Russia pulled out.
As you said a lot depends on definition,"poverty level" in the US is not the same as poverty level in Serbia or Russia or most every country in the world.
Good day to you and if someone out there is naïve enough to believe your rubbish than pity to them, I am very happy with my life and that of my children and grandchildren, none of which has ever missed a meal, nor anything they needed. I have taught them that charity is an essential element of life.
My bond with Kosovo comes from a time there where I met, visited, talked with real people and found that even with the wounds of war and hatred, people were the same whether Albanian or Serbian, they just want a decent life for their family. Hopefully someday they will get it.

When your Department of Labour publishes how it derives the level of unemployment at 5.8% I’ll start accepting stuff they put on their website. The materials you have linked are statistics and the old saying goes something like “there are statistics and statistics, and there are downright lies”. It all falls down to the term “definition”, how you define working poor. If your unemployment figures are anything to go by then it’s all pure BS because for e.g. in the employment area anyone who is more than 12 months unemployed is no longer included in the unemployment stats since they are moved to a different program.
Once again, pre GFC or 2008 there were 47 million working poor in the US, and in 2009 the Department of Agriculture issued a paper on its website which stated that about 60 million Americans only had one meal per day. Today, academics, NGOs have come out and stated that about 100 million Americans are living on or below the poverty line. Now does that sound as if things have improved?????
This data is not from Moscow but from your own people.

sj,
A couple of links for you to peruse.

http://www.bls.gov/opub/reports/cps/workingpoor_2012.pdf

http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/14poverty.cfm

You will notice the definition of working poor, which is not only those working for minimum wage but those working for less than 27 weeks of the year.

The second link will explain the poverty level in the US, those who fall at the povery level and up to 135-180% also qualify for assistance in the form of SNAP(food stamps) utility assistance, housing assistance, health assistance and earned income credits.
For example someone at the poverty level a family of 4 making 23,800 a year would also qualify for 800 a month in food assistance which equals an additional 9600 dollars and not only pay no income tax but to receive a 5000 dollar payment at tax time. That would raise their income to 38,400 dollars a year.
You need to stop believing every anti-US propaganda rag out there. By the way what does it matter to you? According to you the US has no power anymore.
By the way enjoying gas at less than $2.00 a gallon, sorry some Russian families are having to settle for less as a consequence.

Sadly you’re so far behind the eight ball it’s not funny. Pre GFC or 2008 there were 47 million referred to as the working poor in the US i.e. people who were earning the minimum hourly rate and to survive they had to work two and some did three jobs and now in 2015 when the US and many other economies have still has not recovered from the global meltdown your telling me that only 2% of the workforce receive the minimum wage???? According to your stats you now have less “working poor” than pre 2008. You need help lad.
Only yesterday Barak Obama was questioned about the new jobs being created. One journalist asked how many of these new jobs were fulltime and above the minimum hourly rate. Obama could not answer him because the vast majority were just that. You need the jobs that pay $25, $30 and $40 per hour jobs to make any change plus you need your economy to run at between 3.5% and 4% annual growth to be out of the woods. Your not even close to this number.

sj,
So I m lying that the only jobs created in the last couple of years have only been part time work at $7.25 per hour? So I’m lying that the higher paid jobs have not returned? Then I suggest you read up on some facts mate
Yes you are lying about this. So you need to read up on some facts.
$7.25 is the current minimum wage which went into effect in 2009, many states have a higher minimum wage but if a state has a lower one they still have to pay at the federal minimum wage. Less than 2% of the work force receive minimum wage. Those are typically temporary jobs or jobs aimed at the young and parttime, such as people with second jobs or working spouses. Again less than 2% of the workforce work for $7.25 an hour.
Inflation takes into consideration all factors, with the price of gasoline at almost 50% the price of a year ago it does give a false picture of the overall inflation rate. But with the exception of beef and pork I have not seen a noticeable increase in price in the supermarkets over the last 2 years.
As far as Australia being owned by China, I'll leave that statement to you and your fellow Australians. But I still say that a third world war will change things and I see the Aussies aligning with the west quicker than with the east.
But you are true in people in the US are tired of wars that are for the benefit of others, however, any attack on the US would be viewed differently and tends to unify than divide the people.

I know exactly what Bejing said to Canberra and it was 2,500 US marines maximum otherwise look for someone else to buy your minerals and gas.
Australia has an obligation to the US under its ANZUS treaty to host US troops and since the United States of Piss and Wind has been kicked out of all Asian countries except Japan, for now, Australia was its last hope.
So I m lying that the only jobs created in the last couple of years have only been part time work at $7.25 per hour? So I’m lying that the higher paid jobs have not returned? Then I suggest you read up on some facts mate.
Do you for one moment think that the US can print money without having an effect on its economy in the longer term??? So what is stopping say Russia from doing the same without consequences? Or perhaps have a debt of 130% of GDP like the US? What? They don’t have a force field of freedom and democracy to protect them? The only thing the US is doing is paying interest on that debt and each year borrowing more.
Wake up mate. The corporations have run up the debt having your government fighting idiotic wars that have ALL been lost and left people like you with the bill.
If inflation is only .08% in the US why are prices rising in the supermarket rising regularly???????????

Once again China controls Australia and in any conflict lad China is on Russia’s side. Bejing only allowed 2500 US troops to be stationed in Darwin, not one more.
(sj, 30 January 2015 09:20)

If China did control Australia as you say then there would not be on US soldier on Australia soil. I worked with a bunch of Australians and they were very proud of the fact that they have support every conflict that the US has been involved in over the last 50 years.
I doubt the true Australians that live there would agree with your statement.

I truly hope there is never a war directly between the US and Russia as I think that most of the globe will be destroyed in the process. There will be no winners.
Military conflicts have changed since WW2, then the only end was unconditional surrender, now the goal is to bring people to the table and "negotiate". The bombs over Belgrade should have never ended until there was an unconditional surrender, we would not have this mess we do today.

I doubt that you even knew Australia’s location until recently as most Americans have little to no knowledge of the geography of their own country let alone anything beyond the Golden Gate.
I hate to break it to you but any war with Russia will end in the same way as all your war’s end – another huge loss. The Washington windbags are just hot air as usual. All talk and nothing else. As long as someone else dies for freedom and democracy then it’s OK, but they will not have the nerve to send in US troops, not after Iraq and Afghanistan and your lot are tired of war, in fact exhausted.
The US is run by exceptionally stupid people who think that Iraqis are going to do their fighting for them while the Piss and Wind hits ISL from far in the sky beyond any reach. Well I have some news for you, they are not. That’s why the Piss and Wind is so frustrated, to do any good US ground troops are needed plus plenty of body bags, lots of them too. In Falluja, Iraq snipers killed many US marines in house to house combat. In fact one killed 150 alone and these guys were not fanatics. Just imagine how many Piss and Winders will be killed with ISL.
I have plenty of family in Serbia. Once again China controls Australia and in any conflict lad China is on Russia’s side. Bejing only allowed 2500 US troops to be stationed in Darwin, not one more.

what to do with the russia-supported terrorists in Ukraine, and all the Russian soldiers, mercenaries and warlords which are unofficially spending their time in Ukraine?
(Questioner, 29 January 2015 17:04)

1/ Yesterday “russia-supported terrorists in Ukraine” have surrounded 8 000-10 000 Ukrainian troops near Debaltsevo and it immediately forced Poroshenko to ask for peace. Before that it took him 11 days to respond Putin’s letter offering to resume the negotiations in Minsk.

2/ Last week Poroshenko said in Davos that there were some 9 000 Russian troops in his country but yesterday Commander of the Ukrainian Headquarters General Muzheiko told the foreign militaries attaches in Kiev that there were no Russian troops in Ukraine.

I would like to know what Mr Obama is going to do about occupation of Serbia via Kosovo by way of Camp Bondsteel.
I would also like to know what Mr Obama is going to do about Muslim Brotherhood. Is he going to stop supporting them?
America is far more involved in the world that Russia and countries on Russia's doorstep like Ukraine is none of Obama's business.
How about Russia builds a base in Cuba? Would Obama tolerate that?

Gorbachev is delusional and a bit hyperbolic in his rhetoric. There is no new Cold War, and Russia is lucky there isn't because they would be destroyed economically by the West just like the first Cold War, especially considering how much more interconnected the world's economic system is today. The problem with Gorbachev and Putin is they are stuck in the past like many of the nationalistic commentators on B92.

All I can say is that if the United States of Piss and Wind wants another defeat I suggest that they should take up arms against Russia. How many more losses is it going to take for the message to finally sink into these Washington morons? They lost in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria.
The EU is printing money to try and stimulate its economy, which has not recovered from the GFC, and to compound this problem they have been badly affected by Russia’s sanctions on EU goods, so what do they do? They talk of more sanctions against Russia. Talk about cutting one’s nose off to spite its face – pure idiots. But I’m looking forward to it as the next step Russia will ban all EU imports and then let’s see how the heel clickers in Berlin take that one LOL , 1920s depression all over again. No wonder Frau Merkel rings Putin several times a day – she is filling her nappies.
Now for those that are going to point out that the US is in recovery bla, bla, bla. No its not. The only jobs appearing are low paid part time work i.e. the $7.25 per hour kind not the $25, $30 or $40 per hour type. In Europe Germany is the strongest economy, but its growth was 2% in 2014 and the same is predicted for 2015. It might also be of interest to know that a healthy economy has to have between 3.5% and 4% growth and neither the US or EU/Germany has seen that for a while now.

Yes you are lying about this. So you need to read up on some facts.
$7.25 is the current minimum wage which went into effect in 2009, many states have a higher minimum wage but if a state has a lower one they still have to pay at the federal minimum wage.

I would like to know what Mr Gorbatchev suggests about what to do with the russia-supported terrorists in Ukraine, and all the Russian soldiers, mercenaries and warlords which are unofficially spending their time in Ukraine?

I would like to know what Mr Obama is going to do about occupation of Serbia via Kosovo by way of Camp Bondsteel.
I would also like to know what Mr Obama is going to do about Muslim Brotherhood. Is he going to stop supporting them?
America is far more involved in the world that Russia and countries on Russia's doorstep like Ukraine is none of Obama's business.
How about Russia builds a base in Cuba? Would Obama tolerate that?
Maybe you can answer that one.

I suggest that you try and not copy that other clown ICJ and attempt at finding your own style lad.

If China did control Australia as you say then there would not be on US soldier on Australia soil. I worked with a bunch of Australians and they were very proud of the fact that they have support every conflict that the US has been involved in over the last 50 years.
I doubt the true Australians that live there would agree with your statement.

Seriously dude, you think you can intimidate me on a internet website? I have no intention in playing your Jr High games of having pet names for each other, the only thing I can say is grow up, I only respond because all your "facts" are lies and you will say anything without proof, saying people are idiots for believing what they read but they should believe you!!

If inflation is only .08% in the US why are prices rising in the supermarket rising regularly???????????

sj,

“EU ministers are today discussing an escalation of the organization's policy toward Russia, in the wake of the latest flareup of violence in eastern Ukraine.”

They would discuss it before they opened the Pandora Box ! Today the contradictions are so high that only military defeat of one of the sides can bring peace or at least a ceasefire.

Your not even close to this number.

sj,
A couple of links for you to peruse.

http://www.bls.gov/opub/reports/cps/workingpoor_2012.pdf

http://aspe.hhs.gov/poverty/14poverty.cfm

2/ Last week Poroshenko said in Davos that there were some 9 000 Russian troops in his country but yesterday Commander of the Ukrainian Headquarters General Muzheiko told the foreign militaries attaches in Kiev that there were no Russian troops in Ukraine.

sj,
As this could go on all day, I tire of the conversation.
