-UKIP is the fastest growing political party in the UK and establishment are dead frightened of holding a referendum.
(Ari Gold, 29 January 2015 11:48)

Sorry mate, by fastest growing means NOTHING unless you provide some information about the absolute size.

To simplify it for you... For example, say Part A grows from 1% to 2% and Party B grows from 60% to 66%. Party A is the fastest growing party (100% growth vs the growth of 10% of Party B). Almost nobody would be frightened by that 2% lol

The Croatian philosopher Mate Kapović declared to Index: "They call themselfs radical left, but they are not so radical. In fact, they have more of a Keynesian program. They seek debt relief, helping the poor, raise the minimum wage, boost the economy. This is not so radical, except in the eyes of current European politics"

Syriza’s victory reminds Europeans that there is another way and that fealty to neoliberalism isn’t the only show in town.

Correct, the problem is that nobody knows where this way will lead to.

Though, with the same methods (bloating the public sector, avoiding privatizations, corruption and excessive bureaucracy to have some task for all the public employees while hindering private companies and investors) Greek was guided into the situation it is in now.

The only good thing might be that this government might finally manage to end all the tax evasion from the oligarchs and elite - the billions of 'saved' money they already carried to Switzerland right on time, though.

if Tsipras scraps the privatization of Pyreus in favour of the Chinese they will probably search another hub and then "adios" to the railway from Athens to Budapest via Belgrade...

The EU will change economically over the next few years - things will pan out.

-Yes, change economically for the worse. Brain drain in the east, uncompetitiveness and debt in the south, mass immigration and the expectation to continue funding this project from the north. The perfect recipe for European disunion and I'm afraid too many factors are at play for Brussels to reverse the inevitable.

The thing that is holding back Spain and Greece isn't the EU, it is the Euro.

I find it difficult to follow the logic of your arguments. You attmpt to start with economics and you finish with the Bible.Your first point of Greece cooking the books is not entirely correct. It was the Troika ECB/Greece and Goldman Sacks who hid the Greek debts under some complicated financial derivatives and the aim is to qualify Greek eligibility of the Euro-nothing to do with getting more money as you allege. The banks won't suffer a run because of Greece-they've already have their own plans controlling all nations. They won't save you, me or anyone else outside their clique - and if they havn't told you their evil plan you definitely are outside their clique. If they have, you will still likely have your Night of the Long Knives comeuppance. When they are done looting society blind while offloading their debt onto society, they will then move into "Europeans pay their debts" narrative, bankrupt much of us and seize our assets for themselves via their corporate fronts.

Britain is not revolting? Really? How did UKIP manage to win the European elections last May?The truth of the matter is no one believes a word of what Cameron says.Cameron says he will wage a "long, tough fight" to reform Brussels before campaigning for Britain to remain in the EU in an in-out referendum he has promised to hold in 2017. This statement is irrational and laughable. Anyone with half a brain knows that the EU elite are moving in the direction that treaties empower them to do. There's nothing to negotiate, the question is a simple one: The EU will drive to become a single nation .As to your claim that things will pan out you only have to look at debt levels and youth unemployment rates of more than 50% in Southern EU and you get the picture.Europe is the only continent that is shrinking, economically ! The Commonwealth countries are doing very well indeed, so are large chunks of S.America and of course, the Far East. One could easily envisage in few years from now Euro-Land will be a far flung memory like that of ancient Rome.

Leonidas have you Greeks totally lost it. It was bad enough your crooks cooked up phony books on the Greek economy to get more money. Living way above your means and hoping realestate would be going up forever and borrowing heavily against it. You know what will happen if Greeks fail to pay their debt. It will cause a nightmarish chain reaction crash. Other country's will say if Greece refuses pay its debts we refuse to. It will be a huge run on banks who only hold 1-3% in ready cash. The rest is loaned out. It will be even worse world depression then in the 1930's. What Greece is going threw now will seem like a summer picnic in comparison. Greeks and Greece will be a curse word think twice. The bible predicts that time in one hour the world economies crashing. I guess the Balkans have more then their share of catalys world changing events.

I can tell you - the Brits are not in revolt.

Some may wish to leave the EU, but that is not a revolt.

The anti-EUers make noise, but they probably would lose a referendum.

The EU will change economically over the next few years - things will pan out.

The thing that is holding back Spain and Greece isn't the EU, it is the Euro.

Ironically, there seems to be no wish for them to leave it.

"(Should) I accept to tell people, 'you won't pay electricity bills,' or increase without economic basis public sector salaries by EUR 70 for everyone right now, promise things that cannot be done without earning them first - I see myself as a serious and responsible man, and you won't hear that in Serbia," Vucic told the Austrian broadcaster.

And that's the difference to people like Tspiras who's promising things he cannot pay. He's doing the same as all Greek governments did before in the last decades: Bloating the public sector and giving well payed and unneeded public jobs to their supporters - which brought Greece to the situation where it is now.

Vucic is worldwide known only for that genius who appeared on television after the football game. Genius that was totally right, actually.

In this sense, he continued, he feels "closer to Germans, Austrians, or the Scandinavian peoples" than he would compare himself to "our brothers and friends in southern Europe."

He would make such a statement, wouldn't he? He's jockeying himself for a future top job in EU and he's totally oblivious of the present.Th German EU pet project is unravelling at the seams. The Greeks are in revolt, the Spanish are in revolt, the French are in revolt, the Portuguese are in revolt, the British are in revolt. The only Europeans not in revolt are those waiting at the entrance door in the hope of large handouts.

As far as Greece is concerned the next few weeks will be very crucial for the country." Staying within the Euro" and " debt re-negotiation" was successfully sold to the electorate by Tsipras and got him elected. But soon he won't have any illusions of what 's about to happen. The machinations of German institutes are irrelevant and offer only a gloss, the Greeks must leave the Euro and suffer some years of pain while they build a competitive economy using the Drachma. More important than the niceties of Grexit is the opportunity to repair the social damage done in Greece by the Troika. That will be Mr Tsipras's legacy.
