You shouldn't talk tough when only the strongest military alliance in the world bombarding Serbian hospitals and schools was what it took to drive Serbia from its own province.

Just to put into perspective, Pristina lost in 2011 when it tried to take over Northern Kosovo-Metohija.
(Ari Gold, 16 January 2015 11:19)

I'm not sure what "take over Northern Kosovo-Metohija" even means in practical terms - nobody has explained it and most likely you also have no idea what that means lol

Pristina tried (and succeded) in 2011 to establish customs controls at the crossings at the boundary line with Serbia as required by UNMIK regulations. Those controls are there even today since UNMIK regulations and UNSCR 1244 are still in force.

That's it, end of the story - that has nothing to do with the takeover of anything since Northern Kosovo-Metohija municipalities have the right under Kosovo's Constitution to govern themselves like any other municipality in Kosovo.

If you can't live without heroic tales of resistance against imaginary attacks, please feel free to use your imagination - hopefully you get a better sleep lol.

Are you so dense that you think you could fool anyone into believing what you say is true. It is pretty pathetic that you think the only way to make Serbs look good is through telling outrageous lies. The whole world knows what happened in Kosovo and Serbia in the spring of 1999. Save the fairy tales for future generations, it is possible someone might believe it then.

@Ari- That scenario is always thinkable. As thinkable as it was back then. You are talking about people, and historically our species has done all kinds of $hit. You put too much faith on ppl's behavior. Look at Serbia, look at Iraq, look at Afghanistan, look at Syria, look at Lybia. The lesson is the same, no third world warlord or butcher is going to impose their will on the west. You do that, you piss them off and 1999 is thinkable. Very thinkable. I have heard that pathetic excuse before. You want other people to do the sacrifice and share their wealth. You have never made any sacrifice for this country or its people Ari, all you do is incite hatred here, and I am sure you have never been to Kosovo either.
All you know is myths about the place.
Hate preaching people like you are not very far from those djihadists that killed in Paris, with maybe a difference, you are a coward to do anything that would hurt your petty interests.

100 Euros goes a long way in Kosovo.
Anyone living in western world can spare that over a living budget of 2000 euros per month in average. But you might have to skip that restaurant or that movie, it is called solidarity and sacrifice.
I would be glad to establish a list of some Kosovo families in need , feel free to send them 100 euros per month via Western Union and then I will have a different opinion about you. 50 euros will also do by the way...

If yes, you will stay in Kosovo, if no, you move elsewhere.

It's not different to Albanians: They might vocally praise how great Kosovo is, but on the first chance they emigrate to a real state. Since when the government tells its citizens not to buy or sell houses?

Most things are lived at the personal level in life. There are instances when being part of the crowd gives you a feeling of power but in the evening you go back to your home and what matters is food on the table for your close family. All big ideas and revolutions profit but a few and are always used to manipulate the people.

If some Albanian want to pay twice more than my house is worth, it is not the government business to tell me what I do with my house.
Prime minister has issues, he is a hypocrite because he is filled with resentment towards Kosovo Albanians, he would like to read from the same script as Milosevic but he cant as he is trying to keep two pumpkins under one arm and there is too much money in the pipeline from EU to do smth stupid.
Left to their own devices, serbs and albanians in Kosovo will find a modus vivendi, they have lived there together for centuries and only politicians screwed things up. Dont forget, they were good neighbors under Tito, and they would be still part of Serbia today if not for Slobo. Our politicians must be careful what they wish for.

Serbs sold their property even during Milosevic's rule. They knew it Kosovo isn't theirs even when Serbia had 100.000 soldiers and cops in Kosovo. It's better for them to make some good money and go to Serbia with that money and buy many things than to go back to Serbia without any money.

Hang on you blokes. first off, please keep things straight. most of K-Serbs were never forced to leave Kosova as Prishtina never devised any policy to drive them out. If we were to mount a general offensive like our Croatian friends, i am almost sure that Vucic during his visit would see only the ghosts of 1389 battle. why is so bloody hard to apprehend the plain fact that serbs ain't our concern as long as they are an insignificant minority which barely reach 70.000 people. Accordingly, there are more than 2 million Albanians, without numbering millions living abroad. K-Serbs as their brethren in Serbia proper are aging steadily and your population is dying out. just take a look at statistics and how bad things are turning out. if you ever visit Serbian villages they are scarcely inhabited and most of them are elders. on the contrary the Albanian villages are full of life, prosperous with a preponderance of young people. even serbian elders are not willing to stay here, that's why they sell out their properties. i am a rich man, so if my tempting offer is received by a serb, does this mean that I am forcing him to leave his property? Does the Serbian propaganda pass me off as Siptarski terrorist? blokes, just wake up because the sooner you realize that your dreams have gone once for all, the better for you. you can erect medieval statues as much as you want but do you really think that serbs are going to live in a state which they don't perceive as their own?

The Serbs living in Kosovo are smarter than the leadership in Belgrade. They are voting with their feet and giving Belgrade a clear message. The more Belgrade attempts to meddle in Kosovo the more the situation for Kosovo Serbs worsens. Belgrade should stay out of the affairs of another country, Vucic and company have more urgent matters to attend to. The people of Serbia deserve better than what their leadership is providing. As a start, why not try improving the economy so that more jobs are created. Nationalism does not put food on the table. Uh no, I think by the numbers of people that were on the streets of Gracanica and Strpce to greet Vucic shows the Serbs of Kosovo-Metohija welcome Serbia's "meddling".

You've been told before that posing as a Serb on here doesn't give your comments any more legitimacy. But I'll tell you how it is in normal countries, you are supposed to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of where you live. That's how it is in the civilized world, believe it or not. Serbs have been driven out of Kosovo for years by a deliberate Albanian policy. The Albanians have ethnically cleansed many areas by a combination of antagonistic behaviour and 'compulsory purchase' of property.

The 'compulsory purchase' became the only effective option for many Serbs who have left Kosovo, but at least they usually often had a generous payoff from the Albanian purchasers, who were very willing to offer a high price to acquire not just the property, but also the potential for forming an independent state.

Why should remaining Serbs be expected not to sell their property? In normal trading, property changes hands with a measurable frequency. There is an argument that it is as much (or even more) the responsibility of other Serbs to buy property in Kosovo.

If Serbia wants Kosovo, it needs to increase the Serb population and acquire property by purchase from Albanians.

Perhaps the minister should seek reward Serbian births and to subsidise such property purchases.

Serbia's Prime Minister along with 6 other gov't ministers coming to Gracanica (only 20 mins from Pristina) and Strpce in the south of Kosovo-Metohija is a big move. But I hope what Vucic said is true about more money from the Serbian Government going towards development in the Serbian municipalities. Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija are having more children than any where else in Serbia. It's a sign of good news and must be encouraged with more funding from the Serbian government.

Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija are having more children than any where else in Serbia. It's a sign of good news and must be encouraged with more funding from the Serbian government.

Nice words, but it's clear that the illegal and criminal government in Pristina is hell bent on the expulsion and genocide of all Serbs and other ethnic minorities in kosovo. However I hope his message gets through and the Serbian stay and thrive in their home land. Im amazed that Vucic was able to enter the southern areas of kosovo with being attacked by albanian "savages".

The Serbs living in Kosovo are smarter than the leadership in Belgrade. They are voting with their feet and giving Belgrade a clear message. The more Belgrade attempts to meddle in Kosovo the more the situation for Kosovo Serbs worsens. It is easy for Ari Gold and sj to spout their silly drivel, they are living well in their respective countries.
(Moderate Serb, 14 January 2015 18:15)

Uh no, I think by the numbers of people that were on the streets of Gracanica and Strpce to greet Vucic shows the Serbs of Kosovo-Metohija welcome Serbia's "meddling".

You've been told before that posing as a Serb on here doesn't give your comments any more legitimacy. But I'll tell you how it is in normal countries, you are supposed to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of where you live. That's how it is in the civilized world, believe it or not. And the economy should be of primary focus, but a lack of patriotism doesn't make the economy any better at all. Quite the opposite actually, you cannot have prosperity without sovereignty.

I hope there is no war, but your statement is wrong. Serbia still has the strongest military in the region. You shouldn't talk tough when only the strongest military alliance in the world bombarding Serbian hospitals and schools was what it took to drive Serbia from its own province. Today, such a scenario would be unthinkable.

Just to put into perspective, Pristina lost in 2011 when it tried to take over Northern Kosovo-Metohija. We're talking about 4 municipalities of 40, 000 people and you were pushed back. Even worse, the Serbian government was actually telling the locals to stand down and wasn't backing them up in any way. And yet these were locals that made you retreat.

It is easy for Ari Gold and sj to spout their silly drivel, they are living well in their respective countries.

Serbs sold their property even during Milosevic's rule. They knew it Kosovo isn't theirs even when Serbia had 100.000 soldiers and cops in Kosovo. It's better for them to make some good money and go to Serbia with that money and buy many things than to go back to Serbia without any money.

Would you like to live in a hateful environment with the imminent fear of being attacked, your property stolen, or you or your children being injured or killed, and where you have a 'police' that protects criminals and murderers and doesn't do a shit to find perpetrators when it comes to crimes against Serbs? If yes, you will stay in Kosovo, if no, you move elsewhere.

It's not different to Albanians: They might vocally praise how great Kosovo is, but on the first chance they emigrate to a real state. I mean the ordinary Kosovo Albanian, not the ruling criminals who fill their pockets with abusing state money, drug money or bribery money to build their fancy villas in places where building is not allowed. Right, Mr. T.?

@Ari- That scenario is always thinkable. As thinkable as it was back then. You are talking about people, and historically our species has done all kinds of $hit. You put too much faith on ppl's behavior. Look at Serbia, look at Iraq, look at Afghanistan, look at Syria, look at Lybia. The lesson is the same, no third world warlord or butcher is going to impose their will on the west. You do that, you piss them off and 1999 is thinkable. Very thinkable.
