If I were today in Serbia an official cival leader I would first focus my TOTAL efforts on NATIONAL SECURITY, reinforcing the borders, building up and modernizing military capabilities, FULL participation and integration with Russian and Chinies military support. Second the ECONOMY, expansion into the East Asian, Indian and Russian frontiers for an open market. Now for 25 years Serbian people have been subjected to the most humiliating punishment in our history by our centuries old enemies and it just is getting worse as every day passes. Serbian cival leaders must stop entertaining USA, England and Germany and start focusing on a positive future with growth and stability. Growth and stability for Slavic Eastern Orthodox people will NEVER come from Roman Catholic Empire! Now for 25 years the Serbian people suffering and on top of it all HUMILIATION, this has to come to an end now! There is no reason today that Serbia has to be isolated, we must turn away from the enemy and face the other friendly nations out there who are willing to accept us as partners in economic ventures. " The Rising Sun ", Russia, China and India never hostile and always sympathetic to Serbia. Liberty and Peace will never come to the Serbian people from the evil West, we Eastern Orthodox Christians face the Rising Sun when we pray!!!

Is that so? Because it seems to me that the only thing the EU has been asking Serbia to do is give away its own territory.

Most people think that having a war is the hardest thing on Earth. It's the ugliest, but it's not the hardest. Achieving international (and therefore financial) independence after stealing a country's State is the hardest. Look at Northern Cyprus, look how messed up they are 40 years after the Turkish invasion. The Turkish Cypriots ask Greek Cypriots to become one united country and forget about the past. They tell the world that they are not Turkish but Ottomans (don't ask me what's the difference in that) and that they hate Turkey (I guess in their minds Ottomans can hate Turkey). It took us 4 centuries to take Greece back, don't they know we are willing to wait till eternity to free Cyprus? If Kosovo's independence was a sure thing for them, they wouldn't try to divide the Serbian nation between pro-westerns and anti-westerns. I guess they don't know history well. They don't know who Serbs are. Stay united brothers, Kosovo is the heart of Serbia.

Statements made by Serbian officials seem to always be contradicting one another. President says EU asks recognition of Kosovo, PM says no. One day they say Russia is Serbia's historical ally and a very friendly country, the next day they say they will join sanctions later when they join the EU and they just need Russia for gas security and for economic reason.... I don't know what to make of them and their contradicting statements. One day they say they are on the EU/western side on most issues, the next day you see Nikolic meeting with presidents of Belarus and North Korea. Seriously?

According to you Greeks the slavs that have claims over greek heritage or territory are bad but those slavs that do the same towards Albanian heritage or territory are good. Fully agree, they have to stop lying to their own people, but I have little hope they will. They will go on spinning all kinds of stories, and will go on the way they have in the past. A referendum like you suggested a while ago would finally put an end to it, but they do not have the courage to do that. At the same time there should also be a referendum held in Kosovo, because the people living there are one's who are really affected. This entire discussion is done without even asking what people effected by all this Bla-Bla want, and that is the citizens of Serbia and Kosovo. The amendment to the serbian constitution which makes Kosovo part of Serbia was smuggled into it by Kustonica at the very last moment, and can also be taken out the same way. What counts is what the people want.

Kosovo is part of Serbia and yes NATO did bomb Serbia, but they dropped bombs indiscriminately in Kosovo. The west did not care what they hit because they could blame Slobo. They did not give a fig about the Albos then or now.

You are right Mark, that's exactly the point. Greeks cannot set foot in Northern Cyprus (NC), though Turkey is the only country that recognizes NC. What makes you think Albanians will be able to set foot in KosMet, given that Serbia and 75 more countries refuse to recognize Kosovo? NC is not independent unless we say it is and we will never say it is. KosMet is not independent unless Serbia says so and Serbia will never say so. It's not about being an internet warrior or any other warrior, it's all about diplomacy now; all the countries on the planet that had or have or could have similar problems with the problem that Serbia has in KosMet will never recognize KosMet, it's that simple. Mark, ironically the Turks in Cyprus, your Islamic brothers, refuse to recognize Kosovo!! Do you know why? Because they know very well how it's like to be "independent" without full international recognition. THAT is the fact. If you were so confident about Kosovo and Metohija's future and you considered your "independence" as a fact, you wouldn't be here now chatting with Serbs. The first day I saw the comments I thought the site was an Albanian site.So many Albanians in here! Then I realized how scary you must be. Well, you should, ask the Turks in Cyprus for advice. You and Christina need to get together as she thinks that NATO bombed only Serbia and left the Albanians alone. She also contradicts you in that she says the west has not invested anything in Serbia only in Kosovo.

Kosovo is part of Serbia and yes NATO did bomb Serbia, but they dropped bombs indiscriminately in Kosovo. The west did not care what they hit because they could blame Slobo. They did not give a fig about the Albos then or now.

The only ones who will suffer from this are the people who live in KosMet, because you have no idea how it's like to not be internationally recognized.

Yeah, sure, that's a lot of suffering but fortunately the suffering is less now when they are internationally recognized by 108 countries vs when they were part of Serbia and were internationally recognized by 1 country.

Statements made by Serbian officials seem to always be contradicting one another. President says EU asks recognition of Kosovo, PM says no. One day they say Russia is Serbia's historical ally and a very friendly country, the next day they say they will join sanctions later when they join the EU and they just need Russia for gas security and for economic reason.... I don't know what to make of them and their contradicting statements. One day they say they are on the EU/western side on most issues, the next day you see Nikolic meeting with presidents of Belarus and North Korea. Seriously?

Enough with the BS.
Insulting your citizens' intelligence isn't going to be good for you.
Even the ones with blinkers on can surely see what it's going to take to get into EU. Maybe they are ready to pay the price but I would think that most are not.

You think they are better off now? Even if that's the case, it won't be the case for too long and Albanians know that, that's why they bitch everybody about their "independence". Look how many Albanians are here, if they weren't worried about their future they wouldn't spend a minute reading and writing in a Serbian site. Their future is pretty much predetermined, because international independence cannot be achieved unless everybody recognizes independence. And as long as Serbia refuses, 70-80 countries will keep refusing, so Albanians can kiss goodbye their bright and happy future. That's always the case in situations like this.
