Many countries including india have been suspended from the IOC because the government got too involved with the NOC of the country. The president of serbias football federation Tomislav karadzic said he was ordered by the government not to oppose and in fact campaign for Kosovo in FIFA. Serbia can't do that with the NOC. have no doubt at all that Serbia was doing everything in campaigning for Kosovo to be in the IOC indepedent of its NOC. It has to because of Brussels. In fact the Serbia NOC is not even doing anything anymore against kosovo and will formally with withdraw its complaint soon.

Apparently you do not read the articles just jump in and spout the wisdom of Ari without regard as to whether it is right or not.
This was NOT the result of the Brussels agreement, Serbia was still campaigning hard and trying everything possible to prevent Kosovo being apart of the Olympics.
The committee just said Serbia is Serbia and 108 countries or more than half of the UN member states constitute international recognition. It is not due to the Serbian sellout politicians (which is one thing I agree with you on) but due to the fact that Serbia is nothing more than 1 country saying no and 108 saying yes.
Of course the ironic part is this comes just days after Putin pledged Russia's continued support on the issue of Kosovo. This decision showing that Russian support and a Euro will get you a cup of coffee at a sidewalk café.

The fact is Serbia is Over Kosovo! That's why 63% of Serbia says Kosovo is a sovereign independent nation and why all nationalists have been eliminated from parliament and its unanimously pro eu. Stop acting like Serbs by majority still care about Kosovo! I don't know why vucic hasn't removed Kosovo from he constitution yet. It's baffling.

Ian, the Serbian government, since Vuk Jeremic was replaced as foreign minister, has due to pressure from Brussels, chose not to stand in the way of sick Western policy in the Balkans.

The EHF (handball) used as their reasoning behind giving Pristina membership that Serbia signed the Brussels agreement. The OIC said they used the EHF decision to justify theirs.

But I agree with you on one thing, Serbia cannot do anything really to alter the disturbing racist policies of Western governments for right now. Many of them share your venomous obsession over Serbia too, for some reason.

I know as you were talking about Pristina's UN prospects and Serbia not being able to do anything about it (although it can otherwise, they'd be there by now), that you were foaming at your mouth.

Oh well. At least the EU will fall apart. That I will bet my life on, and the first one to go is your country.

This is disgusting.. A third rate (German) puppet state is granted provisonal recognition... For what? Murder, arson, killing, organ trafficking, crime...?? The IOC EB should be ashamed of themselves. I wonder how much they were paid by Germany and the USA to do this??? After all, all the IOC is really interested in is (blood) money.
They, like the supporters of Kosovo "independence" should rot in hell.

The brussels agreement is not just about eu. It says eu path. Everything has been decided to be eu path. FIFA friendlys Olympics everything is the eu path. So according to Brussels Serbia had to stop blocking Kosovo in IOC because it was part of its path. That's why number one supporter of this was serbian ambassador to kosovo dejan pavicevic and why he worked so hard for Kosovo in IOC.

You're incredibly wrong on the Bussels agreement and Serbia did not permit Kosovo to join the OIC.

The Brussels Agreement only refers to not blocking each other in EU membership, not other organisations:

Serbia is free to block Kosovo's membership in any international organisation where it can. Serbia did all it could to block Kosovo's membership in the IOC but was powerless in the end.

And you're right it isn't the UN but that is on its way. I hear the next UN organisation Kosovo will join in UNESCO, Serbia and Russia will be powerless to block Kosovo's membership as they were when the Republic of Kosovo became a member and recognised state in other UN organisations.

This is very bad news for Switzerland. If FIFA follow the example of the IOC, they won't have a football team left. What matters for Kosovans, Serbs and, for that matter, most other people is the quality of their daily lives. Yes, occasionally for short periods it's possible to celebrate one's nationality vicariously through the success of a sporting individual or team, but that won't put food on the table. When the hoo hah dies down, both 'countries' will be the same places as they were before. IOC recognition doesn't bring funds pouring into the country unlike EU candidate country status and is something of a pyrrhic victory. Still it keeps B92 in business and clearly gets the blood flowing amongst the regular contributors to this site so all well and good from that standpoint.

Good morning from the Republic Of Kosova😜

My mornings great actually. Yes I do hold some resentment, but that has nothing to do with you. No it's the Serbian goverment that signed the Brussels agreement that said it would not stand in the way of Pristina joining international institutions except the UN. Who knows, you may even get these sorry sacks of shit in Belgrade to grant you that too.

However the undeniable truth in all of this is that Greater Albania advances just how far the Serbian elite allow it too. If you have bad, corrupt, treasonous leadership... a bunch of idiots who think it's a good idea to trade Serbia's sovereignty for the sake of joining an EU superstate which is sharply declining in economically the more it has taken state-like features, will probably start falling apart in 2 years max, and would never admit Serbia even if it was doing just fine, which it isn't.

When Serbia signed the brussels agreement where it said it would never do anything to block and only support Kosovo membership in organizations serbia was a part of it said yes to Kosovo being in the Olympics eu un FIFA - eveything . Of course vucic and dacic will strongly support Kosovo in the Olympics and the Serbian Olympic committee like the Serbian football association will strongly endorse the move soon. Serbia will love to compete against Kosovo as serbia is one of the most Ardent supporters of Kosovo independence after Brussels for eu membership. Serbia ambassador to Kosovo dejan pavicevic is largely responsible for this. Serbia has border guards and customs agents in its international style border with Kosovo and of course vucic and dacic said evey Serb in Kosovo needs to vote on republic of Kosovo ballots etc.

There is a simple reason why Albanians will always prevail and Serbs will always lose. Just take a look at all of the commentary in this thread. Serbians are dogmatic, negative and irrational with their comments while Albanians and supporters of Albanians are positive, forward thinking and pragmatic. This is the Olympics, a sporting event, this isn't some military maneuver. The idea that the Olympics would elicit the type of nasty comments posted and soon to be posted is indicative of the mental disability of Serbians to accept life and move on.

Sorry Serbs, The Kosovar Albanians keep pushing forward with their aspirations and goals like the unstoppable rebel force that they were in 1999! Keep paying lips service and whining, talk is cheap. Remember that!

"The OKS said they had information that “the IOC is now prepared to support the initiative although we have stated several times, in cooperation with the Serbian government institutions, that such activities are unacceptable” and went on to add that “such course of action would amount to a precedent which has not occurred in recent history, given that no national Olympic Committee has been admitted into the IOC without the country previously being granted United Nations membership." "

I think the Olympic Committee of Serbia should tell that to American Samoa, Aruba, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cook Islands, Guam, Hong Kong, Palestine, Puerto Rico, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) and the US Virgin Islands. None of these are in the United Nations, yet they have full IOC membership.

Also, Switzerland, Monaco, North Korea, South Korea, Singapore, Trinidad and Tobago, Fiji, Kenya, Jamaica, Nigeria, Uganda, Belize (British Honduras), Guyana, Zimbabwe (Rhodesia), East Germany and West Germany (former Host) ect were all IOC members before they were UN members.

And you're right it isn't the UN but that is on its way. I hear the next UN organisation Kosovo will join in UNESCO, Serbia and Russia will be powerless to block Kosovo's membership as they were when the Republic of Kosovo became a member and recognised state in other UN organisations.

So much for Kosovo's membership setting a "precedent".

I have a real life unlike you.

And I'm fully aware of the Drone incident which resulted in a lot of finger pointing from both parties. It also resulted in innocent people's homes/ businesses on both sides being targeted in racist attacks. But you being your racist self have played up one side and played down the other.

Oh, and what "Serbian gov't blunder" are you referring to?

This is just an annoyance, it's not UN membership and therefore you are not a recognized state. But it's the Serbian gov't that made it possible so in a way, even that is an acknowledgement of the real truth, isn't it?

Are you trying to modify your first post and now you sound little but nonetheless, the same as the first post i a different shape and form!? Nice try, but no cigar. I think you should grow up and be a man once in your lifetime. I hope you mark this date in your usual calendar and celebrated next year, as you always do celebrate defeats.

The perfect post for someone who has lost all control of a situation and trying to save face1
Serbia and its ultranationalists and its internet warriors lost big time on this one with a big L for loser.
You can try all you want to belittle Kosovo or Albanians but in the end you have egg on your face.
The international arena is finally saying Serbia get over it Kosovo is not Serbia any longer.
