I spent 3 years in Kosovo, I arrived with the thought process that somehow Kosovo must be reintegrated back into at the time Serbia-Montenegro, as it was too small to make it on its own. Following the breakup, it became extremely obvious that Serbia's intentions were an integrated Kosovo without the Albanians. There has never been any actions from Serbia to show intent to include the Albanian population in Kosovo into a unified Serbia. The Albanians would have and still today been nothing more than 2nd class tenants on Serbian land as far as Serbian thinking. So some type of independence in my thinking became the only option. Do I think that some type of unification of the two could happen in the future? Only in a situation of a larger element as the EU, where each entity would be an equal participant, but not on a small scale of only a Serbia-Kosovo union.
Now the violence in Kosovo. As in Marty's report the violence of Milosevic's Serbia on the people of Kosovo is well documented, do I believe there was violence from the other side, yes! Do I believe everyone involved in "war crimes" should be punished? yes! Do I believe organ harvesting may have been attempted? possibly by either side. Do I think it could have been a successful enterprise given the circumstances in Kosovo in 1999? Definitely, not!
Did I leave Kosovo with a young Albanian wife on my arm? Definitely not! In case you were thinking that was my interest.

you sound like someone who was intimately involved with the Kosovo situation
You obviously are not Serbian or Albanian. Why are you so defensive on this subject?

Don't know what your attitude is about, that is what I am saying. The tribunal will focus on crimes committed since 1999, but Serbia wants to call them all human organ trafficking crimes but the evidence is not there for that so why not just call it what it is. Crimes committed primarily against the Serbian people by KLA after March of 1999. Now if they find evidence of organ harvesting then those cases should and will be brought before the tribunal. But that is future, the present does not include any probable cases of organ harvesting as per the lead investigator. Now should you have any evidence to the contrary by all means give it to someone.

@A New Day

By all means obsess over just the organ harvesting accusations. That, when coupled with the evidence the SITF Report has on all other sorts of crimes committed by the KLA since 1999, is inconsequential because IF, as you like to emphasize, enough evidence IS able to be gathered to build a case, those indicted will already be serving time for crimes against humanity for a whole range of other things.

A little reading might make you a more educated person. The "tens not hundreds" comes straight from Dick Marty's report read it. The 10 number comes from Williamson himself and was reported on B92:
( Speaking in Brussels on Tuesday, the American prosecutor said organ trafficking continues to be a focus of the investigation and that his team has not ruled out that indictments would be raised later but that this is "not possible now."

"There was not enough evidence, but that does not mean there will not be," he said. Williamson added that "a handful" cases of organ trafficking had been determined.

"When I say a handful, I mean less than ten. I talked to Dick Marty and the information that we have is in line with what he collected," said Williamson. )
I don't need to assist the EU in their investigation as they are the ones whose "experts" have released this info in the first place. Not me, but any intelligent person can read the same thing.

Sam D
You have something that refutes what I say?? If at this point as Williamson says there is not evidence to support an indictment do see it possible that in the first year of the tribunal they will have a case to go forward as there is NOT an active EU investigation being conducted now. Once the tribunal is set up and prosecutors and investigators start the process, they will focus on evidence from Williamson first and then other cases IF they have time within their mandate.

certainly did notice the if.
as in IF the charged is found guilty the punishment will be.
notice its not a WHEN.

and with your expertise in efficient organ trafficing (cause clearly it couldn't be any more than tens and not hundreds -- says the expert (or are you just going off with an uneducated opinion) in the matter) you should assist the eu by giving them all the clearly important information you have. it would help with the legal process, leaving more moneies in the coffer to by potentially used to help fledgling states in europe pull themselves out of their financial mire.
you should really help.

I guess someone FORGOT to mention that the investigations evidence found was insufficient to support any indictments for human organ trafficking at this time that future investigations MAY reveal such evidence but there will be NO trials for it scheduled in 2015 or possibly ever.

So far you have Dick Marty's report that there is reason to investigate but if it(human organ trafficking) did happen it would be in the tens and not the hundreds as alleged by Serbia.
You have Williamson saying he did not uncover proof that the trafficking did occur but future investigation may, but if it does it will result in less than 10 occurences.
Notice in both cases the word "if" and not "did".
In any event the focus of this tribunal will be on post 1999 war crimes and most likely will never see a case on organ trafficking.
