I know its off subject but here it should explain your origin.

interesting that Albanian is similar to Greek, does this mean that Greeks and Albanians have been here longest?

Think for your self and come to conclusion, Science is grand can even eliminate years of oppression.

just a thought

It was just an attempt at humour. I don't hate Albanians in any way or form.
It was just funny to see that Kosovo, a country with an extremely limited economy, threatening to impose sanctions on Russia, so I poked a bit of fun, that's all. I am no expert on drug and prostitute trafficking or statistics.

Us Poles are also the target of many jokes, yet it is much healthier to laugh along with them at ourselves than to take offence.

I know your post is meant as a stab of wit aimed at the Albanians(which I really do not understand your hatred toward them vs Serbians) but it makes no sense.
If you look at drug trafficking maps they all show Drugs flowing FROM Russia through Serbia to Kosovo not any routes from Kosovo or Albania to Russia.
Also I would wager there are more Russian prostitutes in other countries than immigrant prostitutes in Russia.

Peter Sudyka

I guess nothing will change, since both Russia and Kosovo are practically mafia-run states with just about all possible trade between them probably being of the unsavory and illegal kind, I guess Albanian drugs and prostitutes will still be reaching the streets of Russian cities without any major hiccups AND Thaci might still get a good word out of the major EU leaders, which will certainly inflate his feeling and perception of self-importance in the Western World.

Who knows? Maybe the EU might promise some potential EU membership candidacy in the next 50 years?

But I am on a SERBIAN –based media site. What is an Albanian jester doing here I wonder? Perhaps the Albos have not mastered electrcity yet. Oh well maybe one day they will come into the 21 centruy.

I don't now what it is now, but some years ago, Kosovo's (legal) main export was scrap metal - and just to get out the usual comments, I don't know if all the scrap metal was 'extracted' from stolen cars or vandalized cemeteries.

I can't think of a single thing Kosovo is producing or trading that Russia is not already more than self-sufficient in, so yes, the measure is clearly political and not economic.

too funny

But I ask you in all honesty: Who in the world cares about token sanctions imposed by a corrupt, Albanian mafiosi politician from an occupied Serbian province?? I certainly do not!!!
(Tony (from Berlin), 13 September 2014 23:15)
A person who really did not care, would not have bothered to post!!!

So the terrorist and mass-murderer Thaci wants Albania to impose sanctions against Russia? Excuse me whilst I lie on the floor laughing... Russia will be shaking with fear at this...

Well "Mutti" ("Mummy"; Angela Merkel) in Berlin will be pleased that another of her Balkan lapdogs is toeing the German line... He will get a gold star from her for this... Perhaps even another business trip to Berlin at the German taxpayers' expense... Maybe he can sell a few more organs here...

But I ask you in all honesty: Who in the world cares about token sanctions imposed by a corrupt, Albanian mafiosi politician from an occupied Serbian province?? I certainly do not!!!

I guess this is good news. This only means that Russia will never lift the Veto on membership of Kosovo in any UN body.
(Bob, 13 September 2014 10:28
Do you really think Russia's stance on Kosovo has anything, anything at all with what Kosovo does or doesn't so. For that matter do you think it actually has anything to do with Serbia??? With the exception that should Serbia ever need to be brought back in line, you may see a recognition as punishment.
The Kosovo issue has and always will be more about US relations with relations with Russia. It is about undoing the image of an untesticle Russia in 1999. Nothing more, nothing less.

The Count of Kosova

With what? Oh I can see it now Thaci refuses to sell drugs and donkeys to Russia. They don’t know when to shut up and keep quiet.

Some other Bob has also written on this page. My comment came first.

'Reader' - you are just rude.

It was a straight forward question - I do not know what they export and was asking.

My comment about drugs etc., was to put off the usual abuse that you get against Albanians on this page.

But you didn't Read that well Reader. You are not as intelligent as you like to think you are.

I look forward to you maturing in the future. Good luck.

To those that say Kosova does not make anything to sell you are out of date, We are now independent and are slowly and methodically coming out of the disinvestment of the occupation of Serbia. In case you don't remember it is Serbia that stole our natural resources and did not invest a single thing. But as many have commented this is more of a symbolic action to indicate our society's displeasure with Russia's occupation of Ukraine, we know what occupation does.

Albnaian

To be quite honest I am not sure what sanctions we can impose on Russia. The bright side to it I guess is we don't really care what Russians have to say, were not fearful of Russians like Serbs are. This is a signal which direction Kosova is headed to, and it is not towards east the Russian federation. Look at all the EU nations that have come together to stand up to a bully like Russia. I don't think Russians understand they have untores EU within itself much more and over all in general with USA.

Do the Albanians sell anything to anybody?
If so, what are the primary products?
(Bob, 12 September 2014 13:37)

Kosovo is a multi-ethnic country. There are people other than Albanians there, in case you just woke up. Just the other day, B92 had an article about something being produced in Kosovo, which probably sells in Serbia and Kosovo only.

http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics.php?yyyy=2014&mm=09&dd=10&nav_id=91568

Like this one, there are other agricultural farms that produce, some owned by Albanians, some owned by Serbs. Not sure they have the power to export to Russia however. Sanctions work also in reverse you know. Russian products may be blocked from entering. If there is anything that goes to Kosovo Serbs, they will have to buy it somewhere else. But as far as we do not know these details, we better shut up, right, Bob? Otherwise one can look like a fool. sj, my advice is only for Bob, you instead don't shut up, please :).

Correct, Kosovo's introduction of sanctions means nothing in the practical world, just as Serbia's refusal to do so means nothing in reality.
It is just symbolic, but hopefully the EU will take both into account when the time comes.
