Really? Serbs won both the First and Second Uprising against the Turks and got the first independent state in the Balkans. They won the Serbo-Turkish War in 1878 and got Nis, Pirot, and Vranje. It's unfortunate what western meddling has done to that region. Serbia has very wisely chosen a neutral stance and wants no part of getting in the middle of this conflict, so I really don't see why any Serb would feel the need to go in there and get in the middle of this. Both countries are friendly towards Serbia, Russia obviously more so, and more meddling by anyone won't help matters. Peggy, I am grateful of Russia's support and the feeling of Russia's citizens towards Serbs, but let's be real about this. Russia is not being attacked like we were, or in danger of losing any of their land. Russia is looking out for the interest of it's people in Ukraine, and those people are in a struggle with this new Ukrainian puppet regime. Russia is far more than capable of dealing with this. They are not in a struggle for survival like Serbs were. On the other hand, Serbia is still suffering from the 90's wars. Do you think it's a good idea to start sending citizens into yet another war? To dig our noses in the middle of this conflict? Ukraine is also an ally, not as close as Russia, but an ally. They are also on Serbia's side with regards to Kosovo. I see no need for Serbs to be killing Ukrainians and making enemies with them. The current stance of the government is right. These volunteers are better served helping make things better in Serbia rather than fighting in Ukraine. If Russia itself was threatened, then different story.

Peggy, I don't think Russians betrayed Serbia as much as it was the leadership of Yeltsin. Most of that is because, as you say, Russia was still in disarray. If it were the Russia of today, I don't see that happening.

I completely agree with you and your assessment of the western media. It really is disgusting, and it's not just on foreign events. Even on domestic events here in the US, they do the same thing. There is so much corruption with out politicians, so much that can expose them for what they really are, and it's kept quiet. The US public just doesn't realize this. Same with the reporting of Russia, and it's sickening how anti-Russian the media has been in the US for almost 2 years now. It really ramped up a few months before the Sochi Olympics and carried on. So when this Ukraine crisis hit, the general public was already brainwashed into this anti-Russian push. It was really easy to paint Russia in a bad way over this crisis, yet the US public is clueless that it's their own government that is the cause of the mess there.

I don't believe we're quite at WW3 here, even if the Russian convoy is fired upon or all hell breaks loose in Ukraine. There will be a lot of barking from the US/EU, but nobody wants that war. I am on Russia's side with this, because they have been pushed into this corner. At this time though, I see no need for Serbs to be running there getting involved. Like in Georgia, Crimea, and Chechnya, Russia will end up fulfilling it's goal.

RS is still very much apart of Dayton, of course I am thinking that Serbs do not want out near as much as the rest of Bosnia wants them out.
What part of Kosovo are they retaking???? If you are talking the north, for 15 years Belgrade controlled the north they never lost it, but lately the politicians in Belgrade have sold it for their EU goals, they retain just enough(with agreement) to keep the citizens in the north from outright revolt and to be able to continue to be a thorn in the side of Kosovo authorities but they lost more in the last 2 years than they did 15 years ago.
I don't know much about the Balkan wars in history so I cannot comment do not really have an interest in going there. But I do know that Serbia was on the side of allies that won WW1 and WW2 but to claim that SERBIA won either is pure fantasy, if it were Serbia by itself Serbian language would have actually been totally different today.

Anyway, instead of complaining, please act - pack and move to the Russian paradise instead of being sickened in Australia.

These volunteers are better served helping make things better in Serbia rather than fighting in Ukraine. If Russia itself was threatened, then different story.

Peggy, I don't think Russians betrayed Serbia as much as it was the leadership of Yeltsin. Most of that is because, as you say, Russia was still in disarray. If it were the Russia of today, I don't see that happening.

I completely agree with you and your assessment of the western media. It really is disgusting, and it's not just on foreign events. Even on domestic events here in the US, they do the same thing. There is so much corruption with out politicians, so much that can expose them for what they really are, and it's kept quiet. The US public just doesn't realize this. Same with the reporting of Russia, and it's sickening how anti-Russian the media has been in the US for almost 2 years now. It really ramped up a few months before the Sochi Olympics and carried on. So when this Ukraine crisis hit, the general public was already brainwashed into this anti-Russian push. It was really easy to paint Russia in a bad way over this crisis, yet the US public is clueless that it's their own government that is the cause of the mess there.

I don't believe we're quite at WW3 here, even if the Russian convoy is fired upon or all hell breaks loose in Ukraine. There will be a lot of barking from the US/EU, but nobody wants that war. I am on Russia's side with this, because they have been pushed into this corner. At this time though, I see no need for Serbs to be running there getting involved. Like in Georgia, Crimea, and Chechnya, Russia will end up fulfilling it's goal.

Without even having a preliminary investigation, they knew it was the Russians. That's why I have always suspected that it was a false flag. They are setting us up to accept a war in case it is needed.
We have eight politicians exposed for being corrupt or basically thieves just recently and it's business as usual. This is a huge number. The only reason this was even shown to us is becasue most of the media here is left wing and are in business of destroying the other side.
Maybe Serbs are better off staying at home but the nubmer of them there is small and but it shows the Russians that they are not alone.
I know we disagree on this but I really feel it's important to let the Russians know they are not alone.

Well, as soon as the plane went down the Russian rebels themselves claimed in social media it was them (obviously before realizing it was a commercial airliner and not a Ukrainian military plane). Anyway, instead of complaining, please act - pack and move to the Russian paradise instead of being sickened in Australia.

RS is still very much apart of Dayton, of course I am thinking that Serbs do not want out near as much as the rest of Bosnia wants them out.
What part of Kosovo are they retaking???? If you are talking the north, for 15 years Belgrade controlled the north they never lost it, but lately the politicians in Belgrade have sold it for their EU goals, they retain just enough(with agreement) to keep the citizens in the north from outright revolt and to be able to continue to be a thorn in the side of Kosovo authorities but they lost more in the last 2 years than they did 15 years ago.
I don't know much about the Balkan wars in history so I cannot comment do not really have an interest in going there. But I do know that Serbia was on the side of allies that won WW1 and WW2 but to claim that SERBIA won either is pure fantasy, if it were Serbia by itself Serbian language would have actually been totally different today.

Anyway, instead of complaining, please act - pack and move to the Russian paradise instead of being sickened in Australia.

Peggy, I believe the Russians know they are not alone. I also do not believe there will be a NATO war with them, that would be something people won't want. I understand what you're saying, and yes some Serbs are voluntarily going over to show their support. It's just that after 20 years of all this crap, in my opinion, enough is enough. Enough fighting, warring, killing. Haven't these people had enough of this? Why not try to do something back home to make things better instead of going somewhere else to impart more heartache. I also hate seeing anymore Serbs in the media on a negative tone. I guess I'm just tired of it because no matter what, it's a negative spin.
