Death penalty has been abolished, explains minister

If found guilty, the suspect in the murder of a 15-year-old girl could be sent to prison for 30 to 40 years, as Serbia has abolished the death penalty.

If this man is proven guilty beyond ANY doubt not just reasonable doubt (mistakes have been made in the past) then he should get the death penalty. I see no reason why the state should house him and feed him for the rest of this life.

Is there such a thing? Really, I support the death penalty, but when I hear you say it that way, I have to question. The reason being, I have read B92 daily for 5 years now and not a day goes by that I do not see you and others here speak of crimes being committed and attribute them to Albanians with no doubt in your mind but only going on a news report. You attribute war crimes to Thaci but you really have no true evidence, only what someone else has said and a desire for it to be true.
so could you ever be 100% sure of a persons guilt of more than beyond a reasonable doubt?

haha, so you are effectively saying that he should not get the death penalty, because proving somebody's guilt beyond ANY doubt is impossible :)

Removing the death penalty has catastrophic effects on society in terms of crime and the feeling of responsibility for it. If the law does not bite, how are people meant to respect it? How does internment in a prison, where the convict essentially lives off taxpayers' money in any way punish them for a serious crime? Huge mistake. I am all in favour of reinstating it everywhere in the world. An eye for an eye is human nature, so why corrupt such basic fundamental principles of our nature?

Sick and disgusting...too bad he doesn't get put in a room tied up with her father, grandfather, uncle, cousins, brothers, etc. Absolutely disgusting.

Isn't it wonderful how a minority can dictate to the majority. You will find that the majority of Australians are in favour of the death penalty for cases where the victim is a child or a serial killer but the government will never even consider it. They know better than the rest of us. I suspect that Europeans want the death penalty as well. It's obvious that Serbs also want the death penalty but someone not even a Serb in another country is telling them they can't have it.
Does anyone see what's wrong with this picture?

Come on Minister if it had been your daughter who'd been slaughtered in such a brutal fashion you wouldn't give "jack" about the European Council and you'd want that piece of human detritus exterminated or better still be allowed to do the execution yourself.

Serbia is an idiot and fool regarding this !

The Highest Authority regarding Human relations says -

" With What Judgement and Measure you judge and measure,
should be Judged and Measured to you again " !

That should be done by the State to One Guilty in this case.

Why now waist several deasent working Serbian workers benefit to the State through Taxes,
to feed a Murder for 30-40 Years.
