How much did Russia donate to their dear Orthodox Slav brothers. No mention of Greece donating even a drachma. Leonidas could have at least pitched in a few Euros. The BRIC countries gave almost nothing to Serbia as I suspected they would. In spite of its own troubles, Brazil could have kicked in a little of their earnings from the World Cup. Even Albania and Kosova donated 100,000 Euros. Well, it seems Serbia finally found out who their real friends are!

Loans are NOT donations. Loans are money on credit. The loans have to be paid back with interest by Serbia. They actually get Serbia deeper in debt.

An article like this needs to separate the actual donations - which are gifts and not to be paid back - versus loans.

How much is actually donations, as in gifted?

"Should have Serbia at least implored if the newly founded BRICS Development Bank with $10 billion in start up funds would be willing to give Serbia an even more favorable loan?"
Isn't it cute when you see little kids out on the football field with pros trying to act like they are all that?
1. The Development Bank of the BRICS countries is still in the planning stage. They just signed an agreement on July 15th, they have decided on a city for the headquarters, they have not even developed a charter, actually deposited any money, only made a commitment, and a whole new system has to be developed and set up. I know Serbs think that this can be done in an afternoon, but it really can't.
2. Estimates are that the first loans will not be available until 2016, can Serbia wait that long? And at this stage that may not be reality, I may be longer.
3. It amazes me how Serbs think that all the BRICS countries sit around and think about how they can get Serbia involved in their business. If you look the only pledge at the donor conference from a BRICS country was India at a whole 74,000 Euros. Not really suggestive that they have your back.
4. It will be interesting to see if this actually comes about, because the thing that has been a huge hold up so far is that while they want to end the US domination, they still do not trust each other enough to crawl into bed together.

"Favorable loans"? .... are they donations or are they loans? If I go to a bank and ask for money, they don't donate it to me... they loan it and make interest. What are the interest rates on these loans from the EU? Should have Serbia at least implored if the newly founded BRICS Development Bank with $10 billion in start up funds would be willing to give Serbia an even more favorable loan?

IDK, maybe they wouldn't have. But why is Serbia's elite consistently tying the country to the stagnating continent of Europe? There is a whole developing world out there that is rapidly growing. Of course Serbia needs business ties to Europe, but why should it isolate itself from everyone else? Corrupt manipulations by the EUSSR is all it is.

I am no fan of communist Yugoslavia, but at least Tito valued international cooperation with countries across the globe. Serbia's elite is isolating everything to revolve around the crumbling EU.
