I'd say that the bribe wasnt big enough. Slobo would have sold his own grandmother if it benefited him personally. The reason he signed Kumanovo was because Western powers threatened to freeze his millions stashed away in foreign banks. The guy was a crook and I hope Serbia never sees his like again. Sadly, my brothers down in Kosovo are making the same mistake with Hash.

Milosevic was smart not to take the offer as if he did the pain of Serbian people would have been 100 times bigger and would have meant ground invasion.

Serbia is no Iraq and population is totally different, so who would have thought Slobo did something smart!!!

Yeltsin did not stab Serbia in the back because at that time Russia was in such a bad shape that if Yeltsin did not do as the US asked, then the IMF would not have lent any money to Russia and people would have literally starved. In fact, Russia was that broke it could not even withdraw its armed forces from Germany without aid.

Oh thanks God for confirming it. Some people, who obviously were not aware of the above, were claiming in these forums that the US was not broke and paid millions to the Ukrainian population to overthrow Yanukovych.

Every time they want to make a point it’s straight to the GDP statistics and how successful Croatia has become. Successful in what? BS. Its only major income stream is Tourism and that lasts 4 months of the year. If Croats had 13,227.47 USD per capita they would be screaming it from the top and not crying about industry closing left right and centre. I used to love the fact when I’d get responses about the better economics standing of Montenegro.
I know for a fact that no one will invest a Euro in Croatia while you have Ustashi going around smashing assigns written in Cyrillic and that goes for the Asians too. Germany is your greatest friend but it will not open a can of coke in Croatia for this very reason.
Croatia’s real unemployment is actually 35% not the crap they talk of only 13%. I hate to tell you but the information (GDP etc) your quoting is about a decade old mate not 2012.
Serbia’s economy was smashed to ensure that it remained poor but every month new industries are opening up and most are German and as they provide employment so the economy will grow and the is a very bright future. Even the Germans are now saying that Belgrade is to run the Balkans and that includes Slovenia and Croatia.
But if you disagree I’ll be happy for you to return to Kroatia to live and look for a job LOL.
