Parade scheduled, unclear if it will be held

Siniša Mali says Belgrade Pride Parade has been scheduled for May, and that it depended on "assessment of the competent authority" whether it will be held.

I hope that Mayor Sinisa Mali and the federal level Republic officials will have enough nerve and respect for others finally to allow the LGBT parade to happen. It is unthinkable that a country that will not allow a parade like this to happen can genuinely expect the rest of the EU to take it seriously as an equal. It is high time this changed, and I will be there with Davenport and all right-thinking people. The world that matters includes each of us, not just those exactly like us. I hope this May we see Serbia behave like a grown-up country.

@ roberfo frisco you really fell sorry for any normal, progressive ppl living inside Serbia?

There are people like Danilo and me who are abnormally progressive and know you are one of us. Next time you bring your little self to Belgrade, call us and we'll whip up a party for our kind.

Parade scheduled, unclear if it will be held. Something like this can happen in Serbia only. If it's unclear that it will be held why scheduling it then?

Any way you slice it, it will be ugly. Either the lgbt parade will go on (which I very much doubt) and there will be ensuing riots, 'subtly' promoted by the Belgrade politicians, or it will be banned for 'public safety' ala soviet Russian style.

I really fell sorry for any normal, progressive ppl living inside Serbia - you guys and gals have yr work cut out for you...

Of course it will not be held. Just like in the previous years. These "maybe-s" etc are just for show. The more often the football fans will win, the bolder they will become. And they have been winning for several years in a row.
