Serbia's stance on Ukraine "must be responsible"

Serbia must be neutrual in relations to Ukranian and Russian political disputes, Eu has no right to pressure Serbia to follow its political policy toward being hostile towards Russia.

I think that the best thing for Serbia would be to simply say nothing.

How can they expect that Serbia takes a stand in this?

Instead of solving thier problems through negotiations and comprimise, The European powers want to force everyone to do as they are told by them even neutral countries that have nothing to do with the problem. The European Union can denounce Russia all day long, they can even throw a birthday party for the Svoboda radicals and not invite Putin, but none of this is going to solve any problems. None of this is going to improve the situation for the Ukraine, or for anyone else. The minute Serbia gets involved is the minute we are waist deep in the manure that the European Union made for itself with its empty words and laws.

I ask myself if they are so powerful, and so right, what do they need with us? I think the answer to that is that their power is nothing more than an illusion, and it only exists when they can scare a country into doing their bidding. Their bidding itself has no virtue or solution, it exists merely to continue their fraud.

They are going to choke the European economy with all this manure, that not even a muletrain could pull. Serbia should tell the EU that they should establish good neighborly relations with Russia.

"I ask you, what policy do you think would be good for Serbia? Do you want us to introduce sanctions to Russia, to have an unfriendly attitude towards them? I think that is not responsible. Do you want us to say that we support a violation of territorial integrity, so that others would say to us: 'You have abandoned Kosovo,' or to say that we are going to abandon our European path," Vučić asked in comment to media speculations about foreign powers influencing the creation of a new government in Serbia.

-- I completely understand this. Even from an adversary position this is totally reasonable. Serbia has an agenda and it thinks this is the best way to achieve it. Now, can we cut the BS about principled positions, international law and principles? If you are ok with Russia breaking these laws and principles and do not voice any opposition when these principles and laws are broken, then you are not principled and do not care about international law. All you care about is your agenda and your interests. Coming out in the open and stating this plainly would make Serbia more respectable; even as an adversary. The way it is behaving now stinks of hypocrisy. Only world powers can be hypocrites and get away with it. Serbia is to small, too poor, to weak to behave like a bully. Nobody is taking you seriously. Be honest for once.

And the result is: Saying nothing, i.e. not criticizing Putin for severe violation of territorial integrity by overrunning Crimea and 'usurping' military equipment belonging to Ukraine, not praising him for supporting the referendum by the people living on Crimea who prefer to live in Russia than in Ukraine, and for 'saving' Russian minority from (imaginary) dangers and threats.

The comment from Timisoara is completely right..The embarassment for what is happening is huge in many countries..in italy the boss of ENI has gone to the parliament and said that S.Stream has a dark future or maybe no future or maybe will have a future..Total chaos...

The Serbian stance should be simple "Western recognition of the unilaterally declared independence by Albanian institutions in Kosovo i Methija opened a pandora box just as Serbia predicted it would".

It's not stopping with Crimea. Veneto, Catalonia, Scotland & Republika Srpska are all actively engaged in independence movements. The Basque, Sardinia, Wallonia, the Croatian part of Bosnia, the Albanian populated part of FYR Macedonia are not too far behind.

ALL are for different reasons no doubt. Some have absolutely no resemblance to the scenario in Serbia. But historically, the West will be judged for opening the gates to all this when it's all set and done.

Will the Russian majority on Crimea now stone cars and buses with Ukrainians and vandalize cemeteries and churches? I don't think so. Wanna bet?

I'm willing to make that bet on one condition. Redirect the focus a little. Let's bet that they will treat the Tatars like $hit. They will mess with their lifestyles their mosques etc. I am sure I will win this bet because they treat minorities like crap in Russia already. They beat people up for looking Asian.
