rote & Peter,

I only wanted to say that wouldn't it be better for the families of victims to be know for sure that it was this man and this group that was behind the attack(s), and not to be just presented another heep of corpses and told here is the criminal. I would want to know for sure. Another issue is the information one could squeeze out of living terrorists. It's very difficult to achieve with dead ones.

Excellent news! This is exactly what I had hoped for: silent, yet deadly action, no fluffy speeches by Putin about how unacceptable these actions were and bringing the perpetrators to justice bla bla bla as they would in the liberal West, just a lethal and clandestine strike where it was needed. I know it doesn't bring the victims back, but it shows these terrorist creatures from the Caucasus that Russian law bites, and hard.

He would go to prison and live off taxpayers' money, including that of the victims' families, and he would probably be right at home in a Russian jail, given the majority of inmates are probably from the Caucasus anyway. That would not be justice (maybe in the Western World, but I consider this a joke, not justice). He lost his rights to human rights and was treated accordingly. I would have done no different.

I can tell you why. Here in Russia we prefer not to waste time and money for proving evident things. So the police usually takes no prisoners. Even if they do so and terrorists are brought to the court the receive the utmost severe sentences. The good news for them is that they never sit in jail long. Somehow happens that they all have poor health and die very soon. You must be already guessing that they usually dream of death. So they are treated to avenge the victims. Say Kulaev as the only survived terrorist (out of 32) in Beslan was settled in the Arctic jail with the Bitsevski maniac who had killed 61 men. Last year the maniac told Kulaev that he stopped to like him. After 2 sleepless weeks Kulaev begged the personnel to take him to another camera. So turning the existence into a nightmare is the Russian way standing against terrorism. By now we have only Muslim terrorism and so we eliminate them as fast as we can. Take care yourself Olii as Mr. Stalin used to say : “ Есть человек – есть проблема. Нет человека – нет проблемы.»

Why did the police return the fire and kill the suspected person? Most stupid thing to do as the investigation on this thread came to its end. And many families of victims of terrorist attacks would have rather wanted this man captured and sued in court.
