Further EU integration "devastating for Serbia"

Serbia is no Switzerland and even that country is not free from influences of others, so what Kostnica is proposing is a pipe dream. Suppose he was elected he would still have to dance to the tune of either the Russians or the EU because, lets face it, Serbia is not exactly a power house like Yugoslavia once was.
This is just political talk. He has done the maths and knows that there are enough voters in Serbia who buy that kind of talk. Not enough to make him president but plenty still to keep his position as a trouble maker.

Really, you have to love this character Vojislav Koštunica! I personally think, he's the only one that has true Serbian blood running in his veins, all the others are ork-hybrids! What ever happened to Vuk Jeremic? Maybe the pay was that good, and he decided on early retirement?

I personally have no idea of what is better for Serbia. Being a EU member gives you some fast vanishing advantages ( compared to the first 5 new members) but it deprives you of your independence in every sphere. You become a hostage when your fate is ruled from historically hostile Berlin or Brussels. You have little maneuver and national dignity ect. What I mean is to ask if the neighbors are interested in Serbia’s candidacy and possible membership by the mid 21 century ? Something tells me they are because they do know Serbia can enter this western club only on it knees when most demands of the Albanians the Croats are satisfied when black is legalized as white when Serb surrender in many other issues. So maybe Vojislav is not far from the truth.

Vojislav is certainly one of the most patriotic of Serbs, but Vojislav is simply wrong here. He needs to pay more attention to the analysis on this topic of the CE of B92 forums sj who has ruled that, I quote, "The EU does not give a **** about Albanians and it has pushed and pushed Thaci into agreeing on issues that they never would". And since our dear CE is never wrong, it follows that Vojislav must be wrong.

The man is right. Serbia was shackled more than once and had to spill a lot of blood to liberate herself, why oh why do they want to be shackled again? Admitedly this time it isn't with guns but more shackled even more because this time people are willing.

He is right - he finally saw the light a few years ago. But previously he was used as a Trojan horse to bring in the DOS - the foreign subservient puppets who harmed Serbia from the inside and destroyed a lot which had even survived the sanctions and the bombing.
He needs to repent for that and acknowledge how he was used and the errors of his previous ways.
But nowadays he is speaking from a realization of the truth.

Vojslav does not want Serbia to be as loved as the Albanians in Kosovo. The EU only wants territory and it does not give a crap about Albanians – they are only mouths to feed. It tells Thaci sit he sits, it tell Thaci sign he signs.
Hey look at the outcome of discussions between Brussels and Moscow over the pipeline crossing Serbia – NO Changes. No matter what happens the EU is heading for a new master and its not the US of Piss and Wind who are now going for a $19 trillion deficit. But only Albanian mathematics can show that this is a good thing.

And since our dear CE is never wrong, it follows that Vojislav must be wrong.

Obviously Kostunica, living in some past and distant times, and obviously not understand the goals and benefits of joining a large family, such as the EU. Standards and economic growth is a prerequisite for joining the EU, the primary goal, which is economic power rises to a high level of citizens provides a quieter and better quality of life, the acceptance of the basic postulates of the EU while retaining the specificity of each member separately.

Well smart arse, where is that list???? It either put up or shut the hell up and move to your Albanian sites if they have one.

Kostunica is more principled and consistant than any other politician in the Balkans and from the begining he said that Serbia should not go down this road, and he was right. Unfortunatly, the voters rejected his message and Serbia did go down this path. Serbia has already made the worst and most painful and humiliating sacrifices so that it can progress and distance itself from a past full of conflicts and great suffering for the Serbian people. I think it is to late to turn back now, and abandon everything that has been sacrificed. I also think it is too late for him to make this complaint without offering an alternative. What could be a better alternative than the good neighborly relations Serbia is attempting with all of Europe and Russia despite all the pressure and disrespect of Serbia in the EU? How are we going to improve things if we don't make nice with our (idiot) neighbors? What good would further isolation bring?
