I call on all journalists involved in the coverage of these cases to step back and examine whether mentioning ethnicity was really necessary, whether the best interests of the child, including the right to privacy, have been respected and whether the presumption of innocence has been upheld," Muižnieks stated.

Maybe the journalists should have conferred with you before writing their stories mr commissioner or even sumbit them to you for approval. This would certainly have prevented the "propagation of negative myths". I don't see the same sensitivity when the german media slaughter the Greeks or other southern peoples propragating ethnic stereotypes.

I've seen this numerous times in European and US media when it comes to Serbs.
When ethnic Serb does something wrong they make sure to emphasise ethnicity - "Bosnian Serb wanted by police..." or "Croatian Serb attempted armed robbery..."
It's not so the other way around.
When Muslim (Bosniak) from Sandjak raped a girl in St. Louis it was not reported as "...Bosniak from Serbia..." but simply "Serbian citizen raped..."
When Albanian from Presevo committed a murder in London, UK, there was , again, no mention of his ethnicity, but was simply stated that he , too, is citizen of Serbia.
By same logic, they should call the former "citizen of Bosnia" or "citizen of Croatia" without mention of nationality.

There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.
