That was Dacic argument. That no country uses their state symbols on local election ballots. And so that was the compromise. That doesn't mean the election commission can not use state symbols in the national elections if they are ever held. So you have both Dacic and Thaci selling false lies to both sides and reporting a win win situation for all. It saves face for Serbia and to the Kosovo/a government. In the end, the people will win because they will be able to represent themselves. At the same time they are getting shafted by all parties (Serbia, Kosovo/a, and the internationals).

Tadic did ask for 20 years and that 14 years have passed. So another 6 years and no one will really care about Kosovo/a except for the ex-patriots and hard liners. So hurray to 2020 when another nation might enter Europe and accept its province as no longer a province but its neighbor.

The bases for Elections is the Brussels agreement. Correct me if i am wrong, but there is nothing about Kosovo being independent in it. Also, if you look at voting ballots, you will see that there are no any flag, crests and anything resembling the mark of status of any country.

What the elections mean to the Serbs and what they mean to the Albanians are two different things, both legally and politically. It doesn't matter what the elections mean to the Albanians in Pristina or if they are run from Pristina. It is more important to stability in the region that the Albanians believe it means something to the fake state of Kosovo. As long as they express convictions that these election support their claims to Kosovo, then all is well.

The simple act of exercising elections in Kosovo is an affirmation of Serbian authority in the region since the Albanians have no real political life there under the babysitting of the OSCE.

I'm sure the Kosovo government wants the Serbs to take part en mass and run their municipality's which is normal. I have no clue how this guy is trying to spin it to their likings.

“Albanians will certainly do everything they can to discourage Serbs from voting in the elections,” Pantić said.

Stop twisting things to your liking. On contrary, we would love to see K-Serbs vote in masses, so that it will prove they are loyal citizens of Kosova. These elections are about Kosova Municipalities, and have nothing to do with Serbia. Elections are organized by CEC of Kosova, and overseen by OSCE.
