oh no no its true, they only confirmed the presence of neurotoxic symptoms in their patients so its OK for the world to be sanguine about the situation there.
(Nikolle, 30 August 2013 19:41)

No, you are still wrong Nikolle. MSF have not confirmed CW use because they can't. Others have suggested, but what exactly, in what quantities and by whomnot MSF. It's the weapons inspectors job. Duh!

I've always struggled to understand the so called AntiWar movement. its not anti-war, its passive and anti interventionist. there already IS a war in Syria and chemical weapons have been used on people. this has been confirmed by Doctors Without Borders....
(Nikolle, 30 August 2013 11:46)

Trouble with literacy Nikolle? MSF have 'confirmed' cw use? No, they haven't because they are neither experts nor have the equipment to verify
what exactly has been used, unlike weapon inspectors. Don't let simple facts get in your way.

The US never backs us, this so called "Special Relationship" seems to be a one way affair. I'm pretty sure the US needs us more than we need them because they don't do anything for us. F*** the US and F*** NATO too. All NATO does is make European and Canadian soldiers fight in American wars.
(Ian, UK, 30 August 2013 00:32)

You're absolutely right on the above.More than 650 British soldiers lost their lives in Iraq and Afganistan. What for? Both Iraq and Afganistan have been bombed into stone age which will take them many years to recover.

There is only a political solution to the problem in Syria which may take time to materialise but a volley of cruise missiles will produce nothing more than rubble.

I am glad to see the democratic process winning the argument against military intervention in Syria(parliament vote).I wonder whether William Hague will have will do the honourable thing and resign as Foreign Secretary for his handling of the whole issue.Threatening military action before the UN inspectors produced their reports was pathetic to say the least and totally disrespectful of the UN and its charter.

Haha that silly sod Dave Cameron lost the Syria vote in Parliament. The Liberal Democrats voted against for the same reasons why they were opposed to the Iraq War and Labour voted against to make Dave and the Tories look stupid. And possibly because Nob-Ed Miliband is tying to emulate Harold Wilson who famously stood up to US pressure to join the Vietnam War. I wonder if Dave has been on the phone to Obama to check if they can still be besties?

I can't wait for the 2015 General Election. That daft sod Dave is getting kicked out of number 10. He is weak! It'll be good riddance and the same for that moron Gideon Osborne, his 'Etonomics' is doing wonders for our economy.

If the US wants to go to war in Syria then so be it, but don't expect our help. The US can fight their own wars from now on. The UK has given so much to back the US's foreign policy in the past but what do we ever get from the US in return? Sweet FA! They're supposed to be our ally, but where was the US when things heated up over Gibraltar and the Falklands Islands recently? They were nowhere to be seen as usual. The US never backs us, this so called "Special Relationship" seems to be a one way affair. I'm pretty sure the US needs us more than we need them because they don't do anything for us. F*** the US and F*** NATO too. All NATO does is make European and Canadian soldiers fight in American wars. I say Europe should establish a defence organisation without the US, Canada can join if they want.

This was planned years ago and all they need is some reason and "proof". Just like in Iraq, there is no smoking gun but the US is itching to go in.
Just like everywhere else the US is supporting Islamists knowing full well that they are the enemy and the Christians will be exterminated.

They think we are all stupid and don't know any of it. If people believed them back then when they lied their way into Iraq war, surely they can't possibly think that people will believe it now. I can't believe that most people are that stupid. Some idiots will believe it and back it but most not.

They first lied in the break up of Yugoslavia and it was easy because people haven't heard their cr@p before but now? Now you have to be totally brainless to back any war anywhere that the US wants to start.

BBC World interview with a weapons inspector.

High grade Sarin/VX more likely to be Assad's forces.

Low grade Sarin/VX which will have traces of byproducts more likely to be from the rebels.

Of course, high grade stuff could have been provided from certain actors outside Syria for such a purpose...

The whole thing is a farce. Do the US think that the WMD debacle in Iraq never happened or people have forgotten??

The US have pratically loaded up the planes with bombs ready for action with no proof at all.

Whilst David Cameron is jumping to conclusions and screaming for war, it's good to see the opposition in the UK make a stand and say they won't even consider it until there is cast iron evidence.

The public are massively against any action and so are large sections of the press. After dismal failures in Iraq, Libya etc. the public have had enough and are not sitting back. Labour and the tabloids are onto this and whether it's just populist politics, its what people are saying.

Why the hell do we want to back Al-Qaeda affiliated "rebels", with form for killing non-muslims and oponents in the name of religion, not to mention canibalism? Given their brutality, I fully believe that this was staged to drag the west in, even though they despise them.

At least this time, Cameron has had to back down a bit, though with America leaning on him, he'll probably be just like Blair and sell out the UK public.
