Greece is a 2nd world country pretending to be a 1st world country.

Is it? The rest of Europe has always looked down its nose at Greece seeing it only worthy for summer holidays, ancient history and culture. Surrounded by its neighbors may well have made Greece look good, but they are hardly 1 world countries either.

BTW, it is politically incorrect to talk of 1st, 2nd, 3rd world countries. It has been for a long time Developed and Developing.

Get with the program boy!

Frau Merkel makes a joke and nobody gets it.

Germany let Greece join the EU fully knowing that their economic figures were all porkie pies. Merkel doesn't go after Deutsch Bank for its investments in Greece. Maybe Merkel should be asking how industrial giants Siemens and Thyssen-Krupp have found themselves in such a mess of their own making.

This election is for Merkel to loose. It will be a squeeze.

Merkel is right. Greece cheated their way into the Eurozone by cooking the books. Their motive was to get cheap credit and credit they got, billions and billions. Where are those billions today? A lot went into the pockets of crooked and corrupt politicians and their families. The same persons are still running the country. let them return the money they stole from the people and let the people have their day in court so that those that are found guilty rot in jail. Further more, For once let there be a Greek government that takes their business seriously.

Of course Merkel is right. She is prepared to say anything to get re-elected, fully aware of the smoke and mirrors she is hiding behind.Greece did massage its books to get into euro so did most of the others with the full connivance of the Germans who needed a competitive currency and customers for their products.
The EU rules by lies and manipulation of the greed of national politicians. It deliberately set up the Euro to try to bounce hundreds of millions of people into a super state thus destroying democracy.I just hope there is a Greek default on the eve of the German election.

AND Greece should of gotten out before the Austerity measures took effect and the other countries, Italy, Spain and Portugal would of followed suit,,,and that would've taken Germany down.....That is why Germany gave with drastic measures the funds to Greece,,,,for it's own interests....
