Electricity prices hike "won't trigger inflation"

The increase in the prices of electricity in August "will not cause any price rises," NBS Governor Jorgovanka Tabaković was quoted as saying by Tanjug.

The best hedge against inflation is strategic (commodity) reserves. This increase in power prices will devalue the currency and exaserbate both the suffering of the average person and the value of the currency. The .55 percent figure is real impact, it does not account for loss of consumer/investor confidence.
These power price increases are a backdoor tax that is no good for the buyer or the seller.

"people feel financially that the price increases are more serious than that"

Why is Jorgovanka trying to tell us that the price increase of electricity is insignificant compared to food prices? Is she trying to divert our attention away from this problem. All price increases that effect the cost of living for Serbs are important because there are no wage increases to compensate for inflation.
