The EU has criticized Serbia because of the delay in the digitalization process of television in the country, the Belgrade-based daily Danas writes.

Digital TV is good for producers of these settop boxes, TV channels and for marketing reasons. A poor pensioner who only has TV for distraction cannot afford one of these boxes or subscriptions. What people need to do anyway is switch off their TV and go outside. Plus, one good rain shower or snow storm and the channels completely block while with analog channels you always get some signal.
