Bam Bam: The same reason that most others who did equally horrendous things throughout the 1990s have not faced justice; they cannot be identified. Those who perpetrated killings are not going to admit to it and their former colleagues are not going to give them up. I think you'll find it's the same in most conflict situations. That's why leaders/generals go on trial for the crimes of their underlings because they are more easily identifiable. The danger in this is that quite often the evidence is not strong enough to support a guilty verdict and you end up with a 'show' trial; history is littered with them.

You lot got clobbered last time and you say the war is not over??? and another thing, you call us criminals yet your people committed atrocities against Serbian civilians and I suppose that is not a crime then?! you make me sick to my stomach with your warped rhetoric.

Petar Dokic is right that it is indeed sad that police protection was required. However, the same would apply across the Balkans if a minority group decided to commemorate war losses in 'enemy' heartland. I can't see the Croats sitting back and allowing Serbs to place a memorial in Vukovar without a protest or Serbs rolling out the red carpet for Bosniaks wanting to mourn their dead in Banja Luka. The Volunteer Street deaths were a dark stain on the muslim defenders of Sarajevo and were a clear indication of the lawlessness that existed throughout the region in the 1990s. Divjak believed, naively, that the fighters would honour the promise made by the acting presidency but had underestimated the strength of feeling among his men. Some of the comments made about the war not being over, echoing some that I read about the Kosovo dilemma, tell me that time is not necessarily a healer. I just hope that people grow too old and tired to continue the level of hatred expressed on this site. Any chance of that?

The only way forward is for Republika Srpska to become independent and fred of muslim rule. This is Serbian land and how on Gods green earth could we allow muslims to settle our lands?

Very sad for Bosnia, the Bosniaks lost so much in this war. How on earth they allow these criminals calling themselves RS to even visit that locations??? These Karaszic and Mladics people they have place and very nice place this is prison- lock these Serbian war criminals.
How much more Bosnia has to lose? More then 200 000 ppl died. 50 % of the territory displaced, mostly 95% Bosniaks. What a hell. This war is not finished.

not sure what the hell you are talking about, but the facts remain that even though it was agreed that there would be safe passage for the soldiers, the muslims on the other hand set a trap and planned a massacre. This is what you expect from muslims, they say one thing and do what they want regardless of what they agreed on. And the muslims in bosina are just that, muslims converts, speaks highly of their mentality

Where do you get this nonsense from Naim??

Deaths in the Bosnia civil war were as follows:-

Muslims
31,270 soldiers killed
33,071 civilians killed

Croats
5,439 soldiers killed
2,163 civilians killed

Serbs
20,649 soldiers killed
4,075 civilians killed

All of this could have easily been avoided if Alia and his muslim/German/US supporters had not gone for the unilateral declaration of independence. He/they wanted war and he got one... Serbs don't back down from a fight.

RS is here to stay my friend. No chance we are going to surrender our freedom to the same loonies that started this whole mess in the first place.

Naim, as long as there are people like you around, wars will never be finished. Many people and ethnicities lost a lot during the Balkan wars, ( by the way, the total casualties on all sides is placed around 100,000+, an appalling number ), but it is time to move on. Bosnia can never move forward as long as old hatreds linger. Maybe the best solution is for ethnicities not to live together, I don't know, but they can certainly learn to live side by side. Stop the hate and anger, Naim, it cannot lead to anything good.

What your people did that day was a crime. Killing unarmed people regardless of whether they are soldiers or not is a crime. A deal was negotiated and then your people broke that deal.
So tell me again, who is a criminal?
That parasite Izetbegovic got to live while those innocent young lives were taken because of your people's inability to honour their deals.

I hope he and all those who slaughtered these lads are rotting in Hell where they belong.

Bosnia was created on ethnic cleansing and crime not RS.
