Did you think that Garvrilo Princip was wrong too?
(Peggy, 24 April 2013 11:46)

The person indirectly responsible for the death of around 40% of the Serbian population in WW I? Yes, he was very wrong. Very very very wrong. He and those behind him should have held a referendum among the people of Serbia before with the question: "Do you want us to kill the future head of state of one of the most powerful states in the world? Probably half of you will be killed in the events that will follow but that loss is acceptable to us. Sign Yes or No"

"They only demand, protest but never propose the solution. If the sanctions and bombing of Serbia is their solution, then, no thank you."
(Christine X., 23 April 2013 23:59)

Which is usual for an opposition party. Saying 'no' to anything is easy. Kostunica had his time, he showed what he was doing for Serbia during his term, and the voters showed in the last elections what they think of the DSS and their ideas (gaining non much more than the 5% threshold of votes)

They can't come up with a solution because they are not the ruling party and if you feel that there is no need for unity between Serbs in Belgrade and Serbs in Kosovo then you are the problem.
So just not to inconvenience you or make your life uncomfortable you would sell the Serbs of Kosovo down the river.

That's what is wrong with Serbs from Serbia. No loyalty to anyone. Prepared to sell their own mother in order to survive themselves.
Serbs from Croatia, Bosnia and any other part of former Yugoslavia are so way better than Serbs like you.

Anyone who thinks like you doesn't deserve support or loyalty from any Serbs outside of Serbia. Shame on you.
Did you think that Garvrilo Princip was wrong too?

The government has not officially made the proposal public, because the document makes no mention of Serbia or its Constitution and laws, or UN Security Council Resolution 1244, but it does mention the Kosovo Constitution and laws, said Koštunica.
--
That says it all really. Why hasn't the government released an official copy of the agreement? Why the secrecy? That is what the EU/US is about, secret and anti-democratic deals. That is why they have made a complete mess of this world and why they rule by dictatorship and force.

These days, the EU/US give power to terrorists and nationalists who side with them. It has nothing to do with spreading democracy and freedom, but the complete opposite.

You only have to read the comments of Serbs and Albanians to see that this ultimatum will end up being a complete failure.

The Democratic Party of Serbia, with Vojislav Kostunica as their leader, is most responsible because Serbian economics is weaker than '90s, and for failure of the negotiations in Wien, just before Kosovo declared independence. And Radicals, with Vojislav Seselj as a frontman, are fortunately just a bad past of Serbian history. They stayed out from a Parliament since last elections, so Serbian people stated their opinion about their projects and political beliefs.

Stavros

I think it is important to say that Kosovo declared it's independence during DSS rule. Also, Montenegrin citizens voted for independence in 2006, just when DSS leader was a Prime Minister of Serbia. They are, including Serbian Radicals, a nationalistic political structure of Serbia, and where the former President Milosevic actually stopped, they have continued.

It is kind of ironic that DSS are leading a demonstration punctuated by "Kosovo je Srbija" signs against a government headed by a bunch of former nationalists (or at least nationalist pretenders). However, the truth is that despite his toppling of Milosevic in 2000, Kostunica has always been essentially nationalist himself, so I actually don't know when his politics were more ironic -- 2000, or 2013? In any case, he needs to be out there demonstrating in this way, otherwise, no one would have any use for him anymore. Will these protests change anything? Of course not. This agreement is basically a done deal, and everyone knows It. Now, after 25 years, it's time for Serbia to get real and start dealing with things that matter to ordinary societies -- you know, societies that aren't in the grips of some nationalist-ethnocentric-xenophobic-religious psychosis. But DSS supporters, don't despair: Serbia only ever got smaller under the nationalist platform of the last quarter century.

@Leonidas :

"the EU is inherently undemocratic(former communists like Merkel think they know better not the people)"

Communism and the Slavic world have nothing to do with teutonic-saxon supremacy. Stop confusing things.

"and secondly all professional parties and politicians are pro EU as it offers a route for handsomely paid non jobs once they have failed in their own national arena."

Do not confuse Serbs and Cypriots (true Indo-europeans) with those vlahalbanians who call themselves Greeks. When was the last time a referendum was held in vlahalbania Leonidas? 1974?

Serbs (despite being ex..... communists LOL) have had much more referendums than neo-Greeks in Greece for decades...

I am not sure how accurate your narration of the DSS is. Now obviously Serbian political parties in general are very corrupt organizations to begin with. I am not disputing that. In fact it was you who portrayed the Tadics Yellow DS in a positive light while condemning the DSS.

However what I do know is 5 years ago when EUphoria was so high among Serbs and all they could think about was EU membership, Kostunica remained adamant on Kosovo i Metohija when his coalition partners were looking to sell it off right then and there. And the messed up part of that was in 2008 it was actually popular to want to join the EU (unlike now) so Kostunica risked his political career and popularity by choosing Kosovo i Metohija over the EU.

Now as far as financing these other right wing organizations, that I do not see much proof of. Again, not saying its impossible but the DSS itself is not a ethnic nationalist party. It is more of a civic patriot party, it supports (at least on paper) its country's territorial integrity, but I have not seen any far right actions from that party.

You say the DS was the symbol against Milosevic oppression, but where are those guys now? Well I'll tell ya, some of them are with Milosevic allies in the current gov't the rest are sent to political oblivion because of their failed policies.

Holding a referendum is a must thereby forcing untrustworthy politicians to become the servants of the people, instead of vice versa.Wanting the people you vote for to actually govern your country is what we call democracy.

Will there be a referendum? I very much doubt it for two reasons.Firstly, the EU is inherently undemocratic(former communists like Merkel think they know better not the people) and secondly all professional parties and politicians are pro EU as it offers a route for handsomely paid non jobs once they have failed in their own national arena.

DSS is one very shrewd fellowship, one association with a cunnig plan. In a past they were a part of opposition party who came to their political climax by the toppling of previous regime with the help of foreign intelligence services. Everything was either driven by DS who was a simobol of resistance to SpS and regime. After unsuccessful government rule in coalition with DS, G17(today URS),which was crowned by premier been killed, DSS transformed into a national oriented party(whic they were, because I think that they were inserted by regime into opposition rows). Carried with idea of comming back to trone again they have continued with forming and financing other so called right front organisations, such as DVERI, Obraz, and other. Financing of those oranisations was not difficult because they had their people set on top of largest public companies such as RTB Kolubara. With help of those executives directors they have pumped out money from companies and transferred it in financing right organisation. That way of thinking Its paid off now beceause those organisations are controling one part of public and they are gathering huligans and extreme right groups. Those groups are able to form demonstrations and come out with violent behavior in purpose of overthrowing of government. Also there is possibility that they are also controling a part of army officers.Briefly that is story about who is DSS, where they came from and what is their idea.

Anyone who thinks like you doesn't deserve support or loyalty from any Serbs outside of Serbia. Shame on you.
Did you think that Garvrilo Princip was wrong too?

Did you think that Garvrilo Princip was wrong too?
(Peggy, 24 April 2013 11:46)

The person indirectly responsible for the death of around 40% of the Serbian population in WW I? Yes, he was very wrong. Very very very wrong. He and those behind him should have held a referendum among the people of Serbia before with the question: "Do you want us to kill the future head of state of one of the most powerful states in the world? Probably half of you will be killed in the events that will follow but that loss is acceptable to us. Sign Yes or No"

The government has not officially made the proposal public, because the document makes no mention of Serbia or its Constitution and laws, or UN Security Council Resolution 1244, but it does mention the Kosovo Constitution and laws, said Koštunica.
