I don’t know if this will change anything, but I agree that it was time to hear our side of the story. USA and its satellite Canada boycotted speech as they do every time when some country reveals the truth about something in which they were involved in, in a negative way.

"she was wearing a t-shirt saying something about justice. "

A couple of countries organized a press conference for her when she wasn't allowed to speak at the conference. She said the t-shirt, which she had originally brought to give to Ban, read "Justice may be slow, but it's reachable."

"Serbia got boycotted - wow - lets change our reputation huh? Looks like the Russian club is getting a new member. Good luck.

Well, another self-inflicted shot into Serbia's own foot. Nikolic made a fool of himself, and Ban-Ki-Moon set things straight before the so called "conference" started.

The world press did not take much intrest in this propaganda show, and only reported that Jeremic's security guards removed a member of the group, Mothers of Srebrenica out of the conference because she was wearing a t-shirt saying something about justice.

Nikolic's remarks may be liked in Russia and some other totalitarian states, but anybody in the West can only shake his head about so much blind propaganda.

"the highest number of member states in the history of UN public debates participated in it. "

but of course, no doubt this is what Vuk Jeremic's message is. How successful his initiatives are etc. Unfortunately this is all propaganda. And offering to cancel this UN GA debate in exchange for Serbian Hague convicts serving their sentence in Serbia is nothing short of gangsterism. Holding the debate on 10 April is another example of how this debate is aimed purely at a Serbian domestic audience as part of little Vuk's attempt to resurrect a political career when he has to exit the UN.

John,

the folowing is an excerpt of the last sentence on the article you just commnened on

"Journalist Ljiljana Smajlović told B92 that a rather small number of countries had boycotted the event despite the U.S. that was against the debate."

Now after reading this statement, how can you deduce that this meeting was a failure?

It seems to me that is was the US, Canada and Jordan that failed to defend their beliefs by not participating in this wonderful meeting of diverse countries.

So this was the "great" day which Jeremic was longing for such much? It was a total failure for him. Ban Ki Moon did not allow to attack the UN institutions, especially not by this clown.

I am glad that we finally get to hear the other side on the world stage and that this will be entered into the UN archives. It will be valuable information for historians, academics and many writers. The NATO court has been a complete failure at reconciling the Balkan people and it is true that it has worked in the opposite direction.

However, I feel that perhaps this has been the intended purpose as NATO, along with the US military complex, profit from war and instability, not from peace. Those that support such a farce are normally those ultra-nationalists who like to spread hate and not peace. We see many Albanians here who fit nicely into that category.
