The people who were affected by Katrina were told to leave and many refused to do so. They were all told that in advance of the storm.
(linda, 15 March 2013 21:13)

So, maybe the girl was told to leave and her family refused to as well. Stop making pathetic excuses. If you are not from the US, stop pretending you are. Kosovo is not part of the USA!

Again, Your from the USA, I take it? The USA is one of the most flood prone areas on earth, at times devastating floods, and large populations of people live near these flood zones! Yet, very seldom do you hear of people or children losing their lives, why? Because in the USA, their is advanced warnig systems in place for these areas, to give the civilian population time to make the necessary preparations, in-order to keep theirselves & family members safe!
(Rocky, 15 March 2013 14:28)
That's news to me. We do get lots of floods and many people still die. What warning system are you speaking of, the Weather Chanel? That didn't help New Orleans residents in Katrina, did it?

1. Hurricane Katrina
2. Hurricane Irene
3. Hurricane Sandy

Your argument is flawed.

"I haven't come to this site and blamed Serbia"

Of course you did. Read your comment again. Srbica (Skenderaj according to you) is in Thaci's territory. Nature however doesn't care about ethnic boundaries and territories and enough damage was done to both communities.

What the hell is an advanced warning system that a river will flood and a bridge will collapse? I never heard of one. Does a siren go off, like an air raid? I think the best would have been for this poor girl's parents to have kept her indoors in weather like this. But thanks for pointing out that the serbs are guilty in this tragedy, Rocky. How's Bullwinkle, btw?

Rocky,

You must not have heard of the pleople that drown during superstorm sandy in NJ & NY, why didn't the US system prevent these deaths. Besides, this child drowned in KiM; where was ROSU to save the day?

An 11-year-old ethnic Albanian girl drowned in the Izbica River in the village of Srbica near Kosovska Mitrovica.

Srbica is in KiM, where Hashim Thaci was born. Thought the guy would have at least put some advanced warning weather systems in his own village.

RIP to the little girl.

If so, then Kosova should start making the necessary investments! If you can't afford it? Then sit down with representatives of Serbia, And come to a joint agreement, where a investment can be made by both sides, to benefit and keep safe the civilian population of this flood prone area! Eventually, we will have to help each other! The sooner the better!

How does a 11 year old just drown? Was there no advance warning, that flooding was possible? What kind of primitive system is in use? If indeed true, may god bless this little Teuta, and may she be at peace... Serbia, you should have a modernized advanced warning system put in place! This is exactly the reasons why u have the population in the south always complaining tht they are unhappy with Serbian policy! More investments need to be made in southern Serbia, so that the people there can feel like equals!!!

Oh now that a Albanian girl drowned it's southern Srbija instead of Kosovo, so you can blame the Srbs again? Let Pristina put a warning system in place, as it happened in Skenderaj(srbica).

Sad news for the young girl and her family.

Rocky, get a life. You sound so ignorant and cold.

Was there any update to the story on what she was doing in the water? It's still freezing cold.

Shame on you. A tragic death from from the force of mother nature, and you have no shame to turn it into politics and hate
(Kosova-USA, 15 March 2013 13:32)
Kosova-USA, I will assume then you are from the US? I am not turnig this tragedy into political bulls..! Had this 11 year old been Serbian, or any other ethnicity, I would have posted the same comment! It is a shame, that any child should have to lose their lives, to something that is absolutely preventible! I haven't come to this site and blamed Serbia, that because Albanians live in the south, there is no advanced warning system! I am saying investments should be made, to put a system in-place to keep all people safe, regardless of ethnicity! 2 or 3 months ago, when a Albanian was shot in Kosova, for stealing timber on a Serbs property I stated that everyone had the right to protect his property and family! Was that also a political motivated comment? I state here now, I am against ALL loss of innocent human life, whatever the ethnicity of the victim may be!

An albanian girl drowns and serbs are to blame! Seriously, is there anything horrible happening that serbs are not guilty of? I can understand that serbs in Kosovo and elswhere don't want anything to do with you. Instead of feeling sympathy for the girl you are looking for a scapegoat amongst the serbian population. Show us if Kosovo, Albania or some other Balkan country has this warning system you're talking about? And one more thing, what responsibility does this little girls parents have? If there is a flood I sure wouldn't let my kids out and Id do everything to keep them safe. You albs are just so pathetic.
