"Serbians celebrate Statehood Day"

I'm perplexed... According to the true Serb patriots in these forums the statehood day for Serbia is 1 November because that's when Serbia was recognized by the UN and, according to the true Serb patriots in these forums, statehood can only be established with UN recognition.

Glad to know that you want to celebrate my family Slava. (Peggy, 16. februar 2013 01:55) I just want another day off work like the Scots, Welsh and Irish do. I wouldn't celebrate it as such as St George is a religous figure and I'm an Athiest.

Who's George, Ian? Why should the EU honor him?
(winston, 15 February 2013 18:36)

And yet again another weird and irrelevant comment from Winston.

I was referring to "St George" the patron Saint of England as well as many other countries and cities.

I have no idea why the EU should honour him, I suppose your going to give me an answer? Because I have not suggested or implied that the EU should honour him, you're the one who brought up this idea out of the blue.

Happy Statehood Day Serbia! I bet it is a national holiday, I wish St George's Day was a national holiday in England.

Count of Kosovo, why would you want to put a dark cloud on Serbia's Statehood celebrations? Are you that much of a Serb hater? Seems kind of petty, in my humble opinion. Just like Shiptars celebrated their Albanian Statehood not long ago, why can't the Serbs? Serbs here, and overall, said nothing about that, why are you so down on Serbs? I didn't do anything to you, nor did anyone else I know.

Well, Count of Kosovo, you are right, Rep. Srpska is not a nation - it is a republic though. You argue that they are not a nation because of no UN seat, I guess you feel the same about an independent Albanian Kosovo.

BTW, have you seen how the US State Dept. has slapped down Albania for sticking their big noses in Serbian affairs? http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/02/15/us-albania-usa-idUSBRE91E0VD20130215

What is it with Albanians anyway? Are you guys like the three musketeers, one for al,l and all for one? Seems like wherever Shiptars live, Berisha sticks his pointed nose into the affairs of that country. Glad to see that America is sticking their noses into his.

You guys better behave, you are not the darlings of DC anymore. That has become quite obvious.

Serbian officials have received messages congratulating the holiday from Italian President Giorgio Napolitano, and from the prime ministers of Russia, Turkey, Hungary, Bulgaria and the Serb Republic (RS).

Since when is the Serb Republic (RS) a country. Who has recognized it as such, other than Serbia. Surely, it does not have a seat at the UN, not even with Observer status. As usual, Serbs are acting far more important than they really are. Before we know, Dodik will be proclaiming himself Emperor!

Robert, Tirana claims it was Albanian gypsies, Rome, not real Albanians. Shiptars would never be that disorderly and disrespectful during a national holiday. Serbs and Albanians are very similar, they just do not want to admit it.

What? no mobs attacking a cake, oh yeah that was tirana for the albanian celebration. I still laugh when I see that video on you tube, an instant classic.
