If BS was a marketable product on the stock exchanges we would have a miracle cure to the world economic recession.

Yes Kosovo’s unemployment fell from 45% to 40% and the other huge economic dynamos surrounding Serbia are run on western crap. And Slovenia is up in arms over their prosperous living eh?

Now to you. The funniest item I ever saw was how the US calculates its unemployment levels. Your PSB has an item on that in July last year. To cut to the chase, the crew went into this large room with those self contained work stations and out pooped this middle aged lady who they interviewed.

The last question was “can you tell us how you get these figures?” Her response was “I can’t because we all signed secrecy agreements”.

Now that’s suspicious. Why would it be a secret? Maybe if the errorists find out they could bring down the US?

Little lesson for you –don’t sit on your brain all your life.

As I have said before with one stoke of the pen I can make even Somalia look good. I have yet to see what Kosovo produces but by some miracle its unemployment is now down from 45% to 40% - the same people do US unemployment figures.

If BS was a marketable product on the stock exchanges we would have a miracle cure to the world economic recession.

Naivety is forgivable but down right ignorance is just that. Where do you start with such laughable IMF statement?

Yes Serbia has big economic problems and there is no question about that, but then why do we have huge protests in Slovenia? What are they against? Too much of a good life that is spilling over and the populace is demanding harsher conditions? Now remember Slovenia’s economy is nearly all based on tourism.

Then we go to Croatia; another miracle country that lives off tourism and manages to live very well too. Three months work nine months holidays – not bad if you can get it.

Then Montenegro, Macedonia and last Kosovo.

The earlier commentator was right about Tadic being a big factor in this. A lot of those loans taken under his administration ended up frittered away by corruption.
Then there was the awful weather problems - heavy snow and very cold weather from late January through February, then the drought in July through September - those compounded problems.

Serbia sure has a lot of work when it comes to its economy. But considering the fact that Serbia was bombed for 78 day by nato and the fact that Serbia is home to the largest number of refugees in the balkans, it not surprising. At the same time billions of euros in aid to croatia and bosnia to prevent another war. Its an unfair comparison. Serbias main problem is that its borrowing money left and right. For what? To build fancy bridges? The Tadic government is responsible for this mess.

The poor Serbs are still paying for the loans of the US military humvees, that are used on Serbs who do not pay into it.

America too is also bad, but remember that the most successful and sober Serbs or anyone else in the balkans makes a living there.

As always any bad news about Serbia turns the discussion to Kosova.

Let's see what IMF is saying:
http://www.imf.org/external/np/sec/pr/2012/pr12401.htm

Johannes Wiegand - IMF: "Kosovo’s economy has continued to display considerable resilience in the face of external financial turbulence. IMF staff projects that real growth would exceed 3 percent in both 2012 and 2013, which is higher than in most neighboring countries. The banking system has remained well-capitalized and liquid, despite some increase in non-performing loans. Progress has been made in strengthening the business climate, including in the areas of streamlining business registration and investor protection."

And in your little "dream" when do you plan to rename Serbia to Northkorea? As far as I recall there is even a group which wants that. That news is not complete. It leaves out that Serbia has the highest inflation rate in Europe, 12,2% to be exact. So with other words, Serbia really managed it to be in all fields the lowest performer which does not surprise me. Aside from the decision that some were investing in Serbia, the majority prefers safer places where governments don't sacrifice the whole future of a country for lost causes and worn-out lies. In fact, that news shows in the most obvious way how much failing Serbia is and no fingerpointing is going to change that. Not even an embargo can be blamed. Serbia did this absolutely by herself and wait what will happen when the Visa Free Regime can be smoked as your Northkorea-ization of Serbia. Each people deserves the government which it has.

Say what you want but Kosovo i Metohija is and will always be (as long as occupiers are administrating it) the poorest part of Serbia. I mean jeez, its been over 10 years since the occupation with billions of aid coming from Western NGO's and Albanians in Kosovo i Metohija still live in dire poverty. Of course Ian will tell us "no guys, everyone is investing in Kosovo and it has the highest growth rate in Europe", right before he files his report for his disability checks.

"All Serbia needs to do is print Dinars. Dinars will be Serbia's salvation."

Just like Zimbabwe, bravo.

"Will it lead to inflation? No-way!"

Print money, print wheat, print bread, print myths.

If you print twice as much money as there are goods, it is the goods that will become two times more expensive. But explaining facts to mythical people is fighting with voodoo wizards and delusions.

"Serbs will be happy with closing their borders economically as long as they have enough dinars to buy cevapcici and Knez Milos water."

Sure, and the 90% of Serbs that rely on refugees to send money back from their western hosts, will love it.

Just coerce the poor Serbs with a gun to pay their taxes to the communists.
