@ Lenard: Bam Bam you are a idiot.

Lenard, what have the Roma people ever done for us Croats. Just answer the question instead of just saying your an idiot. I rather have a beer with Dodik then sit with those you call people.

Bam Bam. I have had the honor of being in the company of many Roma children and teenagers in Serbia through my volunteering with [link] I can honestly say I have never met a more gentle, unselfish, intelligent and dignified group/race of people. If given the opportunity One Roma child can give the world more then one million people like you could ever dream of giving.

Bam Bam's comment is disgusting. It is a pathetic generalisation. It is bigoted, and it appears to support the murders in question.

Generalisations usually show a potentially perverted world view. For example, what are the arguments to result the question "Who is worst - the person begging on the corner, or the guy who pollutes the atmosphere with a big car?".

There are many decent, peaceful, fun-loving Roma. Bam Bam's generalisations stink.

Years ago I learned that the use of the phrase "these people" always precedes a narrow, insular and wrongly judgemental piece of bigotry.

The Germans do not need to be remembered nor would it change anything for Serbia or any other country in their relation to Germany if they hold remembrance days. Remembering is part of the German culture and education system, and huge efforts are done that young generations learn to develop a sense for the protection of human rights. Apart from that, the war ended 67 years ago and people strongly condemn the wrongdoings of their great grandparents. The crimes of the Nazi era are openly discussed in every form of the media. So no worries of upsetting the Germans. ^^
Serbia is on a good way if it increasingly speaks about these things. Also about the involvement of its own people in these crimes. A process which has only gradually happened in other European countries in the 90s. Hopefully such a process will happen with other crimes as well such as Srebrenica and so on. Finger pointing does not help to prevent the re-occurance of such horrible crimes. Only the pointing towards the own society can prevent it from repeating its own mistakes and re-establish good neighbourly relations.

Seriously why are these people even getting mentioned. What have they conributed to Europe in the last 100 years=nothing, other then clog our streets with filth and picket pocketers.

They are human beings who have never started any war but have suffered a lot as a result of someone else starting wars.
You should be ashamed of yourself for saying something as cold and evil as you just have.
Roma have been persecuted by almost everyone and yet they don't pick up guns and start ethnic cleansing in their neighbourhoods.
That honour goes to Croatians and Albanians.

The genocide against the Roma in WWII is one of the most tragic episodes of that armed conflict, but it has been almost completely forgotten by modern generations," said the prime minister at the commemoration.

So the world should just forget? WWII commemorations happen everywhere in Europe so why should Serbia not hold them? In order not to upset 'ze Germans'?

I often wonder if the Western diplomats could or do feel anything at these events.

Rest in peace, you will never be forgotten!!!
