Opps, sorry, forgot the piece "Why do you think Albanians are moving north when they know that the two don't mix". You not only love bigotry, but want the Albanians to apply it too.

When you go anywhere in the US to live it's fine because you are not trying to change the ethnic mix and then claim that territory in the name of Albania, are you?
(Peggy, 22 November 2012 21:11)

J could be a, say, caucasian, and is trying to move into a neighborhood of African American majority. So, by definition, J would be changing the ethnic mix there. But if the mayor of that African American neighborhood were not to issue a construction permit to J because J is not an African American, that mayor would see himself in prison for a very long time, dear.

Oh you couldn't be more wrong. Giving you albs a hard time acheiving your goals of stealing territory that was never yours is definately worth it. To see you come short of becoming a UN member and remaining unrecognized to a majority of the world is definately worth it. To see albanians in Kosovo continue to live in a prison camp is definately worth it. Watching albs is like slowely picking the wings of a fly. You enjoy every second of it. This is exactly the kind of rhetoric, behavior, which goes right to the core of the conflict. Unreflective serb nationals, heated up by one-sided Belgrade politicians and media, spreading hate. You disguised yourself, disqualied yourself, like so many others not just here, but in gerneral. You guys do not want peace, you want conflict, and with your comments you show the world that you have not learned a thing. You are possessed by getting Kosovo back and if possible more, still dream the Milosevic dream of a greater Serbia. You didn't learn a thing

The government of Kosova is just testing the waters! They want to see how those Serbians in the north will react! They'll ( KSF ) make their move, a lot Sooner then you think! If I were H. Thaci, I would wait for a couple more rounds of meetings with Dacic to be completed.. In this way, he could give Dacic ample warning of the consequences the Serbs in the north face! I would also advise Thaci to, demand from Dacic that the Albanians in presevo be guaranteed greater human rights & human freedoms! Eye for a eye! Tooth for a tooth! We can play your game as well Serbia!

Serbia’s goal now is to just leave Albanians in Kosovo to rot. Year 13 and status quo continues.

Peggy,Mitrovica beefore the war had a population of 80.000 and it was 90% Albanian. Now you have 60.000 Srbs in the northern part.20.000 Albanians deported from the northern part must go back to live in their land and ofcourse 57.000 Serbs that came from Krajina and Bosnia must leave Northern part of Mitrovica bcs they do not belong there.

So why is Serbia joining the EU? If Serbs will not tolerate others then why join the EU? If Serbs will not respect an individuals right to develop his own land then why join the EU? If the person who's building their home bought that plot of land legally than why not let him build?

These questions apply to Kosovo/a Albanians too south of the ibar river. Albanians are petty in their regards in protecting people no matter what ethnic group they belong to... and some of the Serbs here point out a great deal of inefficiencies and deficiencies of the Kosovo/a govt.

Both sides are guilty of many things. The main question is what are you doing to improve the people's lives and stop corruption, enforcement of the law, having a justice system that is blind to ethnicity, color, age, etc., building infrastructure, economy, and jobs. Educating the young, giving them hope, and giving them an opportunity to live in peace and chase their dreams?

They should have more reporters chasing politicians and locals around like B92 reporting on things that affect the common person. How people should not hold office if they rob and cheat the people. And criminals should be a main target for scrutinization.

I'm still puzzled why either side wants to join the EU, when you can't fix these issues on your own!

Sorry dear, just because bigotry is normal to you and some people in Kosovo or Serbia, it does not mean the entire world is like that. It is scandalous that we're debating in the 21st century, in the middle of Europe, whether it is wright or wrong to have ethnicity as a requirement for construction permits!

Sure, there are some Albanians like that, as there are Serbs, etc. - you can find people hating other ethnicities all over the world and I think that we all share the same opinion that people like that have no place in a civilized society. But it is concerning to see that mayors of North Kosovo do actually issue construction permits based on ethnicity. Rather than condemning ethnic hate - they have raised ethnic discrimination to a system of government, instead of trying to isolate citizens who spread ethnic hate.

I've never heard Kosovo's Government say that in order to build somebody must be Albanian. Let the mayors of North Kosovo do, at a minimum, as much as Kosovo's Government does - allow people to build regardless of ethnicity. Yes, you could still have some Serbs, who like some Albanians that you mentioned, may riot, but, at least, those governing should not be the ones spreading ethnic hate.

They don't want to move into Presevo because Belgrade serbs are not from there. And those albs who want to move into the north are not from there so they should stay out. And don't you dare to compare the situation for albs in Presevo and serbs in Kosovo. When was the last time you heard that serbs had cut the power to school attended by alb children? When did you hear of serbs desecrating albanian graveyards, trowing granades into the backyard of albanian homes, cutting the phonelines etc etc? Show me one artilce where Presevo albanians have experienced hostility by serbs? It just doesn't exist. It's infact the other way around. Even in Serbian Presevo albanians provoke and create problems yet you have no shame in blaming serbs.

Here in the USA I can go and live wherever I want even if I have never live there before. Nobody will stop me from doing that because of my ethnicity. As a matter of fact whoever utters ethnicity as a reason to stop me from living there, is potentially looking at hate crime/ bias crime charges and a few years in prison. It is beyond me how Serbs see nothing wrong in denying somoeone the right to live anywhere he wants because of his ethnicity. This type of thinking belongs to people in the looney bin, not to normal fair minded people. This is funny. You have one side arguing where someone can build their home or can not and others requesting they get permits, while others arguing who has control over an area.

Anyone think about individual rights and their rights to their own land in this debate? A person who owns the land and can do as they please as long as it does not break any laws. Irregardless if the person lived their prior or not.

The request for a permit is true but we all know that the Serb side will not grant it. So the point is great but the detail that is missing is if the permits will be granted. The bottom line is people must respect the law and not mob rule!

Even if you don't like the individual the land is theirs to develop as they choose! Not a groups preference bc that ends up being discrimination. The Serbs should build something in the southern part of the ibar river to test if the law is being applied equally. If it is then there should be arguments between any party be it individual, local govt,, or even state government.

People have no jobs and no means of surviving on their own without handouts. Be it from the diaspora or Belgrade or Kosovo/a. Teach them to survive on their own should be in everyone's interest.

Get them jobs so they have no time to sit around and squabble. Give them opportunities for a better life.

Happy Thanksgiving and be thankful in giving to each other....

(Rocky, 22 November 2012 15:46)

Does this advice to Thaci come from many years of experience gained sweeping Pizza Hut and MacDonald’s?
Serbia’s goal now is to just leave Albanians in Kosovo to rot. Year 13 and status quo continues.

instead of cowardly hiding behind german or english nicknames, our k-albanian friends should rather start thinking. what will they do, once the US let them down?

we will take care of you, of course. we will pacify every Albanian who´s spotted with a weapon in his hands while on serb territory.
and as you should never forget, KiM is serbian territory. and you will pay for your behaviour.

so, you childish ha ha´s an provocations will haunt you one day... rest assured, we will pacify you. one way or another.
(Jovan, 23 November 2012 12:55)

In any other country open threats like that would bring the police on the into the game, but not so in Serbia. It just shows the condition this country is in, and the state of mind which still seems to be present in a lot of peoples minds.

Interesting.... is there some building code in North Kosovo which provides that one of the requirements for construction permits is the ethnicity ?!!!

Every negative issue regarding Kosovo is making my day, every day.
(MikeC, 22 November 2012 22:13)

This is exactly the kind of rhetoric, behavior, which goes right to the core of the conflict. Unreflective serb nationals, heated up by one-sided Belgrade politicians and media, spreading hate. You disguised yourself, disqualied yourself, like so many others not just here, but in gerneral. You guys do not want peace, you want conflict, and with your comments you show the world that you have not learned a thing. You are possessed by getting Kosovo back and if possible more, still dream the Milosevic dream of a greater Serbia. You didn't learn a thing

hahahaha...your "day" must be so so sad and empty...lol I don't know how it makes your day since everything you hear relating to Balkans is bad news for Serbia...Serbia facing bankruptcy, croatian heroes released with honor and welcomed as such in Zagreb, Haradinaj also to be released next week, kosovo serbs all day bothering everyone with their pathetic alarms and gathering...EU not granting negotiations date, threatening to cancel visas liberlization...so only good news...do they make your day ?? lol

The entire EU is bankrupt with countries like Spain with unemployment of 25% then you have the UK with one in five out of work. You can then go to your allies the Croats and Albanians and see how wonderful they live in the west.
As far as the Hague is concerned this could not have happened better than if I organized it myself. With this little effort your west has destroyed their reputation and lergal structure completely and the Serbs have woken up to the west.
As far as the EU is conceredn it now no secret that Belgrade was buiding up to turning the people away from the EU and have succeed magnifcnetly. What does the EU have to offer Serbia? Bankrupt countries – he is a tip France is next on the list to go under.
On visa liberalization, who cares.

Currently unemployment in the UK is at 7.8%, 1 in 5 would be 20%; you are way out. You honestly haven't got a clue and I thought it was your 'job' to know these sort of things? You're like the Emile Heskey of economics.

Also the UK is one of several counries in the EU which has avoided bankrupcy, so much for your "The entire EU is bankrupt".

It is nice to see your beloeved mighty China encounter economic issues now, it was bound to catch up with China are some point.

Kiko

pre 11 godina
