Even if that were true what's your point?
Look how things ended up for the American Indians and Australian Aborigines and the white man is on these lands for a much shorter period than Serbs are in Kosovo.
(Peggy, 26 September 2012 23:10)

Now you can cut the crap about 1389 and all that other BS. The point is that time is not the determining factor. Demographics, international support and the other side goes ape$hit on you are pretty convincing.

As "clever" as you think as you are you still did not answer the question that you raised earlier....how did Serbia/you got the SSA? By using the "almighty" firepower Serbia....or by begging the EU.....Can you tell us how you got "your Ferrari"......?" Borrowed" from a guesrhouse....
(EA, 26 September 2012 17:22)

Maybe I should keep coming up with an answer until it gets ridiculous enough to agree with your bassackwards understanding of things. Serbia got SAA because it applied, the EU wants it in, and it fulfilled the necessary requirements. Like all states do. Kosovo* is still trying to convince Europe it *is* a state.

How will Kosovo* get SAA? Not by issuing demands and ultimatums like Thaci is doing behind the scenes while attempting to play the statesman at the UN like excited tourist. Now that I've attempted to enlighten you again, maybe you'd like to enlighten me on how Kosova* will do it on your next Gastarbeiter break. Cheers mate :)

We Albanians are the original inhabitabants of majority Balkan region. Until six different Slavic tribes decided to invade us in 7th century A.D. From day one we were out numbered, our lands taken by force.

(Albanian, 26 September 2012 03:45)

I don't recall a single historical record mentioning some Albanian civilization that was in the way of any invading force, be they aggressive or migratory, from the seventh century onwards. In fact, I don't recall "Albanians" being regarded as a unified and compact race, let alone civilization, until the 19th century. If you were there, you were ignored even by a bunch of Slavic migrants who simply took over what you didn't bother to defend. Nice story you've got there of being Europe's longest running victims, but even if that were true, don't you think Albanians would have managed to have accomplished something other than being a nuisance to everyone else in the region for the past 1500 years? I mean, a monument, some ruins, a diplomatic treaty with a larger power? Or is this another one of those Illyrian mysteries concocted around 1912 for Europe's most backward and isolated countries. Before you retort with Skenderbeg, try coming up with something prior to the Ottoman invasions.

Frankly I don't think anybody outside of albania cares what the president of albania says. By the way, why isn't a representative of kosovo* speaking? Oh yeah, I forgot Nikolic did speak.

It’s your opinion. As I see you are person with prejudice. I personally care what president of Serbia say for Balkan issues, even If I know that Albania has more geopolitical importance for the moment. Also for me is more important if the speech is true and correct, than who is speaking.

I really like the "we are here to the end of time" chants but lets be real. Do you see the world in 50-100 years even remotely being the Clans mentality you portray? You are being reduced to pencil warriors on many continents. In case you do not understand, anyone wanting a quality of life is leaving the motherland and building it in a global economy. They sit at their desk of the evening and write rhetoric similar to yours but not only are they thousands of miles away they are tied to that. They depend on someone else to fight this imaginary war.
25 years from now Serbia will be a subset of some bigger empire whether it be the EU or whatever replaces it or a Russian based entity, it WILL lose its Serbian Identity.

(EA, 25 September 2012 19:15)

The only enlightenment I can give you, my dear Mr./Mrs./Ms/ EA is the following:

We got SAA. You don't, if you consider yourself to be part of Kosovo, which you don't live in. Notice how hard it was for us? Notice how hard it is for us to even get membership talks? Yeah, good luck chasing windmills Mr. Kosova*. But now, how silly of me, why should I enlighten you, when you are already enlightened enough to have been living outside of Kosovo or Albania for years now? What do you have to worry about other than your Gastarbeiter visa being revoked? :)

(Momcilo, 25 September 2012 22:27)

Hey Momcilo can you explain why Serbs in Kosovo in last 70 years went from 35 to 5%? I do not think this tells that strong will you talking about.

Albanian

pre 11 godina

We Albanians are the original inhabitabants of majority Balkan region. Until six different Slavic tribes decided to invade us in 7th century A.D. From day one we were out numbered, our lands taken by force. Our houses, churches, daily survival sources taken all by force. You Serbs were trouble from day one. YES our will is stronger than anyone in the world. We had to endure the worst any human being could possibly go through. Yet today were discussing Kosovas stand because of these very same Slavic Serbs who committed genocide throughout Balkans. We know Europe has sided Serbia for the longest, even when Serbs committed crimes against humanity. Because of Albanian influence in Washington, even Europe slowly changed its stand with Serbia. Bottom line is Kosova is about where it needs to be. Under Albanian leadership. Not a nikolc/dacic can change that, Kosovas chapter has been written in its final chapter. If Kosova should ever go back to a country, it should be mother Albania. If any of you Serbs would like to debate any similar topic let me know. I can teach you guys about your own history, unb iased version of history.

Kosova belongs to all of its citizens, Albanians, Serbs,Roma's etc.

My perception of speech by the president Tomislav Nikolic. Serbia will cooperate with everyone. We will accept the previous government's agreement of Kosovo, but the next agreement will be different. We must talk about the status of Kosovo, but can no longer make decisions at the expense of Serbia.

Zoran

pre 11 godina

Nikolic gave a reasonable speech and the theme of speeches from various countries seems to highlight sovereignty and territorial integrity. Also a concern for drug and people trafficking.

My goodness, it's no wonder "Kosova"* has not been recognised by the majority of the UN and many that have needed to be pressured. It is also not surprising why negotiations were taken away from the UN and given to the EU. It is a good plan to move this back into the UN fold.

Your father and grandfather were under Serbian repression? Well chances are your father was under communist repression which was fundamentally anti Serbian, and your grandfather was a member of the S.S. Skenderbeg

But I can sympathize with your view to the other side. I could never learn to love Jihadi organ extractors and would want as little to do with your people as possible. And yes, despite what everyone feels they are entitled too, for the sake of peace, there should be some agreement on how to live together.

But there is a bare minimum that Serbia must hold onto in the occupied holy province for there to be any peace. That is not just Northern Kosovo but at least Gracanica, Strpce, Novo Brdo, Podujevo, East Gnjilane, the Serbian Monasteries as well as a referendum in Bosniak and Gorani populated areas choosing to live with Kosovo i Metohija or Kosovastan.

But since your primitiveness will never agree to a real compromise, there will unfortunately have to be either another war or a series of further conflicts until one side simply goes extinct.

If that's how its going to have to be, then so be it. Better death than injustice.

Im often impressed of how good you for the most time play the politic scene, and please dont be quick to beat your chest it has nothing to do with your own serbian "might" its only and soly thanks to Russia. I stand fast in my belif that you will never get Kosovo back. You are yet since the war ended successful in holding Kosovo hostage and god knows for how long this will continiue, whats is true is that this is devastating for Kosovos development, it would have been hard enough even without it. We need to look forward and pay some attention to our common economic situation, and last time i checked serbias economy is in shambles so you have some perspetive here to. You stand witness of Kosovos hardship, we are not even allowed to speak for ourself, what kind of medieval behavior is that? But rest asure we will preservere, i was born in serbian repression as was my father my grandfather and his father and so on, belive me when i tell you that our will is stronger than yours and not to mention that we actually have a non scifi reson to resent you serbs. I will never be able to love or even like you but im prepared to have a professional relationship with you, so please do all of us a favor and stop making Kosovo you nr1 priority because you are fighting for the wrong cause and you are on the wrong side of the moral compass but you dont realise that, i have evidence and will even let you question that evidence just listen, there a risk though that you end up resenting yourself!

(Nori, 25 September 2012 11:33)

It's ok everyone. Thaci wasn't given a pre-written script by the American Ambassador, so it's not like he had anything monumental to deliver to the world. I do hope he enjoys the sights and sounds of New York, and visits some of the hardworking Gastarbeiters no doubt planted around the city. Then again, I kind of wish he would be given the ability to address the GA. Everytime this little bugger opens his mouth, hilarity ensues. Even with the tourist pass he was given at the UN, I hear he was good for a few laughs on the sideline trying to get Catherine Ashton to push for giving Kosovo an SAA agreement by the end of the year. We battled a Turkish empire, for years, outnumbered 10 to 1, and if you think 2 million albos in our birthplace of Kosovo and Metohija is going to turn us back, think again. IN WWII when great nations like France fell in a day.. Serbia never did. Dont tell me about repression. Your father, your grandfather, etc. were not part of an original settlement in Kosovo and Metohija. Rather invited in.. if they didnt like it, they like every human, have a right to leave. No..they chose to raise you, so you can come on this site and others, and justify to us, and show us, what someone acts like and believes when they come onto someone else's land and declares it their home. It is a dangerous precedent, a crime, and a sham. No one has the right to just impose their will, and esp in this instance given the relgiious and historial significance of Kosovo and Metohija. We'll see how strong your will is, i hope that all you albos continue to visit this site over the years.. because in the end, you will all be sitting there wondering what happened. BEcause the Serbs, will never give up their fight.
Also.. must be nice to be an invited guest of someone at the UN, bet you thaci and his fake reps would like to be a real part of it. Hey..maybe someone will invite me, then me and thaci will be considered the same at the next General Assembly meeting. hahaha

Serbia is buying time with this and of course time is a very valuable commodity. It is absolutely crucial what happens within the next decade or so. As this time that Serbia is purchasing at an almost bankruptcy price is worth everything to the Serbians. Who knows they can even set up a case for invasion of the province. What is certain is that these steps are not the way to peace and reconciliation.

Zoran

Nikolic gave a reasonable speech and the theme of speeches from various countries seems to highlight sovereignty and territorial integrity. Also a concern for drug and people trafficking.

My goodness, it's no wonder "Kosova"* has not been recognised by the majority of the UN and many that have needed to be pressured. It is also not surprising why negotiations were taken away from the UN and given to the EU. It is a good plan to move this back into the UN fold.

If there was a way for Nikolic and his administration to recognize Kosova, without getting criticized by his fellow Serbians, he would of done it long ago already. Even today he is trying to come around, but he's being cautious. Nikolic knows the path to holding Kosova hostage is a dead end. Dead end on Serbian part to become an EU member as well. Serbs can say they do not want to join EU all they want. We all know that is a lie by every single one of them. Vuk Jeremic is in a tough spot, he can't back up Serbia as he would like to either. He has been warned about it already. His office is in NY, in a country which Bombed Serbia just 13 years ago. Serbians can be bribed and even manipulated as long as you show them $$$ That's a fact.
