ahum, yeah. very serious people though...

as for your doubts about an amazon-reviewer: I picked one non-albanian reviewer, since almost exclusively all of those who read that crap were solely Albanians. it´s written, published, and even re-published again, since it is clear to some smart guys that there are a lot of Albanians out there who would buy it, just to caress their bitter souls...

but nevertheless coming up with this "expert" who was a catholic missionary in Albania... wow, to start with it was, just a riot.

as I already wrote: you just proved my point.

You base all of your objection on what "one Amazon reviewer" said?? The summary of Western linguists I referred is a pointer in the right direction - Jokl, Meillet - I read those guys (on Slavic languages, not Albanian) when I was studying linguistics: very (if not to say, deadly) serious people. Serbian discussions of the origin of the Albanians tended to be conducted in the newspapers, meaning: by non-serious people.

This source is as credible as the links usually posted here by Serbs when it comes to the big conspiracy theory of the evil west against YU :)

"Edwin Jacques wrote a controversial book on Albanian history called "The Albanians: An Ethnic History from Prehistoric Times to the Present", which has been criticized by mainstream scholars such as Robert Elsie, a specialist in Albanian studies, but has found appeal in Albanian nationalist circles."

http://wikibin.org/articles/edwin-e.-jacques.html

"The book takes a very pro-Albanian stance in its view of history, but it is very helpful especially in understanding the Albanian perspective." as one amazon-reviewer describes it.

Amer, what did you not understand actually??? Do you understand at all what I was asking for?

I asked for serious sources! and all you come up with is this rubbish? I mean don´t you feel ashamed to post this stupid "reference"?

just a little hint for you, my dear k-albanian friend: just ´cause you refer to Linguistics in the first place - todays status quo in scientific linguistics is demasking albanian claims as false, so your recommendation couldn´t be worse actually.
my dear k-albanian friend, who do you think has an interest to re-publish a book, not to mention that it is scientifically worthless, 13 years after the author passed away? do you hear the rings bell?

thanks so much for just giving the perfect example for what I was writing about. You Albanians come up with something that could literally be called Mickey-Mouse-Literature, you even dare to call it "something to start with"...

Amer, you just perfectly proved my point.

I guess the whole UNSC resolutions and NATO bombing and Kfor engagement in the north, and the recognition of 90 countries is all a delusion. After all no one other than Albanians believe Albanians.
Remember eventhough russia and china support negotiations over UDI, they Both supported the resolutions calling for an end to Serbian oppression over the Albanians.

(Jovan, 18 June 2012 17:47) "

You can start with The Albanians: An Ethnic History from Prehistoric Times to the Present- 2 Vol. Set - Edwin E. Jacques. He discusses most of the leading West European linguists who dealt with the Illyrian origin of the Albanian language.

The lack of a written record makes using linguistics a tricky business, of course. Unfortunately, the Romans were uninterested in recording the languages and habits of the nations making up their empire - it was more important that ambitious young men learn Latin and enter the cursus honorum than that they study what the country people spoke. With time, population genetics will provide abundant evidence. It's already shown that the Albanians are definitely a European people - there's no more chance for stories about their coming in with the Turks, for example.

Not so. Depends on what the Albanian said/did.

first of all:

you all who read and write here should forget about "non-albanians" posting pro-albanian comments here.

those who I know personally, do not think very good of Albanians in general, and some of them have have enough opportunity to learn about Albanians when they were there as KFOR-soldiers.

they ALL told me, that they could even say on the first glance whether a village was serbian, albanian or inhabited by gypsies. serb villages were clean. so much for western "friends" of the K-albanians...

as for the article:

Albanians are very eager to belitle these things, but... we all know why.

I think one thing is for sure, once it is disclosed, they will stay calm - like cowards to in general.

it´s the same with them when it comes to the illyrian-descent-topic and if some serb writer asks them to provide some real or let´s say, serious sources... then our dear k-albanian friends are so little and so quiet... like little mice in the barn...

business as usual, I would say.

I don't know for a fact if any Serb was abducted or even had their organs extracted for black market. I think this is a big lie from Belgrade, trying to give young Kosova a bad image. Clearly Marty has been bribed by Serbian government. We know Serbs would do anything to destroy their neighbors.

Cheers from Albania.

I wonder how much media exposure this will receive in the Evil Empire. Probably none, especially eminating from a country "known for its democracy, fair play, human rights violations, etc..."
