“Exactly... Greece and Spain, the Serbian allies in Europe when it comes to Kosovo, are sinking :) unless EU saves them.”

Your US is about to print more money to try and kick start the economy and you don’t have to mention your other allies mate as they are in a worse position than some of the Balkan countries.
The EU is not saving Greece or Spain or Ireland, but it’s the Chinese loans and Russian money that have purchased the Eurobonds – Are you sure you live in 2012?
“That's great that both sides agree since EU also does not need an impoverished country like Serbia which is in economic crisis (just reading the "Economic Crisis in Serbia" section on the right of this page).”
Once again when run out of a proper argument they talk about the Serbian economy. “Economic Crisis in ……"remove the name Serbia and you can put in its place the US, UK or EU and the description would fit perfectly, so what’s your point about economic crises in Serbia?
The EU does not need Albanians whether from Kosovo or Albania as most live off social security while the rest fill up local prisons.

it is unbelievable how B92 censers comments. You publish comments when somebody is laying into me like, calling me names, demands answers from me, and when I answer that person, u simply ignore it, don't publish it. U are not intrested in facts, like I showed that cj today, u simply ignore the data I gave showd that person in response, showing how much money Serbia gets from the EU, and those are facts, which maybe some of your nationalistic people do not like. So B92 simply ignores it, because it is not what the serb disapora wants to hear on your english web site. I try to make the serb people understand that something has to change in their society, that they have to face their past to be able to become a free nation, accepted by the rest of the world.

I agree with Nikolic that it is was not genocide.
(John Jay, 8 June 2012 17:05)

Mate, that Srebrenica was genocide (as defined in int'l law) has been proved beyond reasonable doubt by UN courts.

But, yes, you and Nikolic may be correct for "genocide" as defined by Serbia.

The EU is hanging by a thread and in a terrible financial situation where they have the Spanish banks asking for assistance

The EU is hanging by a thread and in a terrible financial situation where they have the Spanish banks asking for assistance and you now have a place like Croatia reducing their basic wage to accommodate the cut in financial assistance that came out of Brussels and you think that the EU will “put Nikolic in his place”. Boy, are you fooling yourself.
The EU will do absolutely NOTHING; once again for those hard of hearing, NOTHING. In fact they will kiss his backside and try and make him see how wonderful it would be to join their ranks. This is 2012 not 1999. Serbia does not need the EU at all. Maybe you’re Albanians, Bosniaks, Croats, Slovenes, Macedonians or Montenegrins need the EU but Serbia does not. The EU’s offerings have run dry. The bag is empty.

He will be very surprised when he gets Brussels, because he will be put into his place right away. Him and his big mouth will be will be very quite afterwards, because he will be told that he went way too far, crossed lots of red lines, and nobody there likes his style, nore his political believes. It certainly isn't the time to come with demands like he is obviously planning to do, and just by the tone he chooses to make this known, he lost already. He simply doesn't get it. Euope doesn't need Serbia, but Serbia needs Europe, without Europe and its financial support, it will sink like a rock.

Nikolic is not making these statements from the top of his head as it is becoming clearer and clearer that he is what the race horse fraternity call riding under instruction, or in plain English, orders.
I have repeated myself so many times in the past that the world has and is changing and the powers are shifting slowly to the east. Jeremic did not get the top job in the UNGA because he is extremely smart, although that is very true, he got the job because the new powers pushed for it – remember that both the US and Germany voted for the Lithuanian. Just this alone tells people with their eyes open how the sands of power are shifting.
Nikolic did not mention Vukovar by mistake; it was done with intension and precision. It is a signal of what is to come. For the Croats that think the impossible will never happen – watch as the agreements your Zagreb has had to sign are implemented. Croatia is unsustainable and it must work with someone to stay alive so the EU no longer has money Croatia has to reduce its wages and work with Belgrade – the Croats can work the rest out for themselves.
Srebrenica was mentioned to signal that the tide has shifted and that Serbs refuse to believe BS – Serbs are not Germans, Croats or Bosniaks.
The EU is no longer an ambition for Serbia as it has finally realized that it’s about to go under and they will get nothing but a share of paying the debt if they join.
Plenty more is on the way from Nikolic or should I say Vladimir Putin.

President "will demand clear answers from EU He recalled that during his campaigns, he spoke of Knin and Vukovar as Serbian towns in terms of population structure, and not in some other context, and stressed that even six or more years ago, he had said that "we recognize Croatia within the borders stipulated in its UN membership." What a bunch of horse manure by Tomislav Nikolić and lies. Another lie when is Serbia going to return the two Croatian islands on the Danube river. The island of Vukovar and Sar island that the UN and other world bodies say that they belong legally rightly to Croatia are occupied by Serbia.

Fat chance of getting any clear and set answers as the EU can always redefine things, set more hurdles and move the goal posts if it chooses. Serbs need to concentrate on cooperation with non-EU countries, and heavily promote export.

[c/o Gregorio: Texas] - with whom I, and countless thousands of others, wholeheartedly agree...!

What happened at Srebrenica was not "genocide" in the way that genocide was carried out in Nazi Germany against the Jews. Around Srebrenica, women and children were put on busses and transported to safe zones such as Tuzla. The militant men and young men (so-called "boys") were captured and killed as a consequence of war. The muslims had been using Srebrenica as a staging point to carry out attacks on Serbs in nearby villages and ended up reaping what they sowed. If it was genocide, then the woman and children would have been killed as well. Otherwise we will have to begin to describe every act of war in which a group of people is killed as genocide. If that is the case, one could argue that Nato is committing genocide against the taliban in Afghanistan. Since Serbia became the enemy of NATO, their actions are described as genocide or ethnic cleansing. When NATO kills people its for western security and western interests. Are Serbs not allowed to protect their own people and their own interests? I agree with Nikolic that it is was not genocide. It was a consequence of a vicious war. I hope that the people of the Balkans never have to go through it again. Nikolic is standing up for his people and for the "other side of the story" What we have been told in the West is half truths, half the story and in some cases, blatant lies about the Balkan wars.

Most Serbs do not particularly wish to join the EU. Even those who do are certainly not prepared to sell-out their birth-rite to those who not only tried bombing them - ("back to the stone-age") - from 26,000 feet, but continue to conduct a lying war from every political and media vantage point they think they can commandeer...!!!

John Jay

Well, I'm afraid the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia - no matter how eminent that block may be, or firm its protestations - most certainly IS trying to "rewrite history"...!!!

Especially so in the case of Srebrenica, which also entails Mr Josipovic and Catherine Ashton - not to mention the US State Department's august spokesman, Mr Mark Toner! - making endless futile attempts to rewrite the Oxford English dictionary's definition of "Genocide" as well...!!!

"Genocide" refers to the "wilful murder or attempted murder of every man, woman and child in an entire ethnic group." While Ratko Mladić, the Serbian army general who took control of Srebrenica executed only males of fighting age, including teenage youths - (widely described as "boys" - all of whom had engaged in slaughtering the inhabitants of more than 80 Serbian villages in the wooded hills surrounding the town) - was especially careful to be televised bussing Muslim women, children and elderly men to places of safety.

No, whatever else it might have been - a brutal episode in a brutal war, without any doubt - the so-called 'massacre' of Srebrenica was certainly not "genocide...!!!"

Wow. I've never seen or heard a president make so many rediculous statements. I knew he was going to be bad, but not this bad. Nikolic is really bringing back the 90's with passion and determination. I guess he misses feeling what its like to lose! The world will once again demonstrate that to him. Nikolic, you will NEVER make any demands from ANYBODY.

Oh dear oh Dear, move on please, Europe is worried about much more than just one little Country on its edges at the moment. More people live in London including lots of Serbs than do in Serbia itself (because many are my good friends). Do you want to join or not?? Ask yourself its the only game in town and you know it! No one is begging you to join, or setting conditions before you do. Just do what the people want you to do! Improve the economy, health care education and stop lining your own pockets.

The EU is hanging by a thread and in a terrible financial situation where they have the Spanish banks asking for assistance

Serbia does not need the EU at all.

it is unbelievable how B92 censers comments.
