Jovan,

Yes Belushis and Dushku for film. But the man in Guinness Book of Records for most time spent in front of a camera is Irish-Albanian Regis Philbin.

SCP the problem with your statement is that clearly Kusturica does bow to political pressure - if he is a supporter of a politician and Putin's political party that is the case.

I don't see why Kusturica cannot remain aloof, with his own opinions and giving them openly, but without cheerleading for politicians. Respected, independent film directors would not be seen dead at political gatherings. Those politicians are their inferiors, not to be worshiped.

Anyway as an American who reads this site often, you guys should not fight and argue so much with the Albanians. Please try to get along, you're life will improve.

Who are you? The Pope? With your holier-than-thou speaking down to the savages? There's nothing worse than outsiders who believe they are above the fray and impartial. It stinks of old colonialism.

it is fun reading those frustrated comments by avni and mirel! it makes me feel good, I must admit, when they are vomiting their albanian hatred against everything that doesn´t fit into their narrow-minded world.

well, as far as I can see the only albanian, taken aside the Belushi-brothers, the only albanian soul that has managed to emerge in the movie-biz was a rather ordinary girl named Dushku, and the movies she was in were rather b-movies though.

maybe that is too, a reason for that level of frustration within our dear k-albanian keyboard-warriors minds...

don´t worry my dear k-albanian friends, it´s all fine, and Serbia will prevail in the end, so yours is it to sit and wait, since you´re not the ones who will have a say.

you will only do what the US tell you. and that will cost you dear in the end.

Loved his movie Black Cat, White Cat. Uncle Grga is awesome, the girl in the movie, Branka Katic(Ida) came to Hollywood and did some TV and film.

I'm kind of surprised Emir Kusturica is a YugoNationalist and homeboys with Putin. I also like Mikhalov's movies, "12" and Burnt by the Sun 1 & 2. I wonder if #3 will ever come out, I knew he was a nationalist and friend with Putin though.

The Bosnian Muslim police in Sarajevo raided his parents apartment and abused them, and they also stole some awards he had earned from his films. This was at the beginning of the war and Kusturica was in abroad in France or somewhere. Due to the raid his father suffered a heart attack and Kusturica blames the Bosnian war time government which did initiate the killings and terror.

Also, the Bosniak paramilitaries, police and army had scores of illegal torture prisons and concentration camps for Serbs in Sarajevo.

How did he betray his own people Mirel? He has stated many times that he is Yugoslav. He never betrayed his country. The likes of Izetbegovic did. Kusturica is a man of principle and that is why the traitors in Sarajevo hate him.

He is one of the greatest film artists of all time. we should be priviledged to have him.

You can have him, he is the traitor not the people in Sarajevo, get over yourself and read a book. Mladic, Karadzic and Milosevic are not heroes and neither is Emir for worshippingthem.

...I have a huge amount of respect for Emir Kusturica, he doesn't bow down to political pressures and has always been a good Serbian patriot...

His name suggests that he is bosnian muslim.
Anyway he really is more serb than serbs. If it was for him, bosnians would be all killed so albanians.
I wonder if he is still visiting Sarajeva.Probably not, because he backstabed his own people,by incuaging Karaxhich and Mlladic to kill more.I am pretty sure that he was supporting killings in Sebrenica.
What a scum!
P.S I used to watch his movies such as Times of Gypsies and other movies before 1989 and they were great, but since he become with the butchers against his own people I have lost all the rescpect.

I have to agree with P.Rankster. I have a huge amount of respect for Emir Kusturica, he doesn't bow down to political pressures and has always been a good Serbian patriot. It is nice to see him congratulating Putin, perhaps if Kusturica had more political influence in Serbia he would come out with a whole lot better than top politicians do.

In all your obvious naivety posting ridiculous, uninformed comments here, but was that supposed to be funny "joker"? Too bad then, Emir didnt show up in front of the parading quislings and anti-serb "politicians" supporting the "democratic" charade in Belgrade. Now THATS maturity...
