Money money money always sunny in a rich man's world. Many politicians are whores and would take money from the devil himself without blinking an eye as long as they think they wont get caught so this revelation should not come as any surprise.Seems to me Qaddafi should have called it quits while he was ahead and settled into a nice villa on the French Riviera co-hosting parties with his buddy Berlusconi and laughing at how boring Merkel and Sarkozy are but the Colonel obviously didn't know when to pack up his Bedouin tent and get the heck out of Triploi.

But left-wing political website Mediapart alleges the late Libyan leader’s regime said it would provide EUR 50mn for Sarkozy. The French site says it has evidence in a document in Arabic signed by a senior Libyan official after a meeting with a trusted Sarkozy ally.

These are old claims repeated by both Gaddafi and his son who last year in an interview with Euronews threatened to make public documents detailing dates, places and amounts involved. He also said that Sarkozy's visits to Libya prior to French presidential elections in 2007 were aimed at securing campaign funding.

It's worth remembering that Gaddafi was invited in France shortly after Sarkozy was elected and allowed to pitch his bedouin tent in the grounds of an official French residence close to the Elysée Palace. He was described as the "Brother Leader" by Sarkozy.

It suffices mentioning Blair's £1 billion deals with Gaddafi on behalf of BP.

One has to applaud the French and British establishments for their humanitarian wars in Libya.
