Prosecutors seek 28 years in jail for Šešelj

FARCE. That is my only comment on Seselj's trial at the Hague. With taking 9 years to try one man, of anything, how can any court claim victory, regardless of the charges? How can anyone feel competence with a court as the Hague?

THE HAGUE -- Hague Tribunal prosecutors on Wednesday asked for a 28-year prison sentence for Vojislav Šešelj for his role in war crimes committed in 1991 and 1993. It should be billion years and then some for a buffoon like Šešelj. It is OK he will after spend eternity in the very hot part of hell and complicate his many wicked vile evil crimes with his many Serbian buddy's. They can argue and be at each others throats for ever who is the biggest criminal Serb buffoon of them all have a wonderful time.

amazing Serbs get decades long sentences, non-Serb defendant get time served as their sentence. Why do you want to join this moral lacking group of countries?

28 !....It should be 128. This man is a danger to the community and should be kept in isolation. How this beast ever had any influence over the Serbian people at all is beyond me. When they finally pass judgement on this evil man I'll be sure that I send him a box of 'rusty spoons' as a good bye.

I have full confidence in the ICTY because, thanks to this court, some justice has been done for the victims. Regardless of the criminals, whether they came from Bosnia or Serbia, they found themselves in court because so many voices accuse them, and the Court of Justice has proven their guilt. This is what every human should linger to assess, without bias.

hahaha, I must say you're quite humorous. What war crimes? Not one crime could be traced to Seselj, not a single one. He squashed the entire indictment against him, made a mockery of the illegal Hague Tribunal and should walk a free man if there is any justice in this world. This might cause some anger to you because Seselj by himself has proven to be smarter than the entire prosecution team at the Hague and has proven how foolish they were to even put up an inidctment against him. You call him a buffoon and a war criminal? Based on what information do you call him that? You are the true buffoon for writing a comment like that. Long live Seselj...

Ironically, I just watched a video clip of this clown where he was proudly saying the following:

"urgently revoke Kosovo's autonomy, declare martial law for 10 years, suspend all organs of government, discontinue all help for the Albanian population on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, close all factories that work irrationally, open coal mines, build thermal plants, then through economic means force the Albanians to turn to serious manufacturing or leave their jobs, deal with dying from hunger - if they're not going to work… I suggest that in a belt of about 50 kilometers along the Albanian border, all the Albanian population needs to be moved out and into other parts of Yugoslavia, along with getting monetary compensation, that this most fertile land of all of Europe be given in ownership to the army, that it be systematically inhabited by a Slavic population..."

He also advocated for "closing of the University in the Shiptar language" - which Serbia tried, but failed to do.

“In our country we do have a Shiptar national minority... Those 10,000 Shiptars will have the best possible life conditions. Of course, when I speak of a Shiptar minority, I refer only to those who responded to last
year‟s population census. However, the one and a half million Albanian immigrants who boycotted the census, who are not our citizens, should return to their country now that Albania has become democratic”

- which Serbia tried, but failed to do, thanks to NATO. Immigrants - what a sick mind.

To those who consider him a hero and supported him, what a pity. You are probably as guilty as he was, because you refused to stop him as he was advocating the extermination of the people you probably grew up with in Yugoslavia!

A few weeks ago, a guy name Mugesera was extradited from Canada for alleged war crimes. Himself, he did not kill a single Tutsi, but his speech years prior to the Tutsi genocide is enough to send him to jail for 40 years. Seselj fits in the same category. He is responsible with Milosevic, Karadzic and Mladic of a genocide committed during 1991 to 1995.

IYCT is not illegal. Seriously, just because some people do not like it, does not make it illegal. As for Šešelj, the guy was inciting violence and hatred left right and centre. given his prominent position in Serbian politics at the time of the wars, there is very little to doubt that he was complicit in the murder of non Serb civilians. out of curiosity, did anyone read Šešelj's party manifesto? it included the immediate expulsion of 600000 Kosovar Albanians, who according to him had crossed over from Albania in 1942 (something that most sane historians dispute). the guy is not only a dangerous fanatic, he is a bane to Serbia
