As a Serbian-Australian who lives kilometres away from Melbourne Park, BRAVO NOLE! You make all of us Serbians proud, and a lot of your Australian fans happy with your remarkable performance! Commiserations to Nadal, as well, for an equally unbelievable effort.

Also, congratulations to the handball team and the water polo team for their efforts, too. :)

I too congratulate Djokovic and I am also pleased for all of his fans, however I can't help but notice the blatant internet troll intentions in the very last part of that sentence.

I don't know why you felt the need to bring up controversial disputed politics on a news article regarding sport.

Politics ruins sport.

Sport should be free of politics.

There is a time and a place for politics, sporting events are neither the time or the place for politics.

Regardless, well done Djokovic. If only Andy Murray were as good as Novak Djokovic, but then again there is a reason why Djokovic is the world Number 1 and Murray is only the world Number 4. Djokovic is the best player in the world, he has a very long career ahead of him and he is yet to win much more silverware. He will forever live in the sporting history books!

What a brilliant game. I watched it for the entire time and it certainly was a battle of the giants with Nadal having to prove to himself that he can win, much like Andy Murray. The spectators certainly got their moneys worth with this 6 hour epic.

Congratulations Novak as you deserved to win for your outstanding performance and congratulations to Nadal for your brilliant effort. When you get players of this calibre it only takes one small mistake on one part for the other to win. It could have easily gone the other way.

Unbelievable, how on earth he managed to keep coming back playing 'champagne tennis' for 6 hours like that is anybody's guess.

I know everybody keeps talking about how great he is, but this performance was truly legendary. Hats off to Nadal as well, against anybody else he would have won.

I mean 6 hours, I imagine that few of us have 6 hours in our day to watch that match (again) if we wanted to. Now imagine what it must be like running around left and right in the heat fighting against Nadal in that time. Its beyond understanding...

What a legend. He makes us so proud. Amazing feeling! True champion. This was such a tight game and could have gone either way but that's why he is #1
