Actually I know a bar in Hamburg frequented by Serbs, Croats, Bosniaks, Albanians, Slovenians, Macedonians, Bulgarians, Turks, Romanians, Poles, Ukrainians & Russians. No problems there either, not even late on a Saturday night.
(Joao, 29 January 2012 08:03)

Boooring, we want to see blood. Media give us that. we happy, they happy.

I know similar bars in London but imagine how that article would look like: "Marko and Adem had some beers and started hitting on Pamela and Paris, who turned them down because of their accent. And their non-british names. And lack of a car. In fact, Marko and Adem had taken the bus to the club. They ended their night of adventures united in failure and this made them understand that their differences were only superficial".
How many comments would that get? none is my guess. However, it would have more chances if it offered us something spicier (not necessarily blood) like, say, by continuing: "...They realized that they had much more in common with each other than with Harry, who indeed had a BMW X5, and who took Pamela and Paris back at his place. There, Harry started to....".

Why all this tension between Croats & Serbs? Does religion play a role in their differences since Croats are overall Catholic while the Serbs are overall Orthodox-Christians? Or do these acts of violence pertain to World War 2 where I'm thinking that Serbia's motive in waging war against Croatia (at least in the 1990's civil war) was revenge for the brutal treatment or maltreatment of Serbs by Croatia's Ustasha army, brigade or unit? I read somewhere that the Ustashas were so brutal or sadistic that even their Nazi German allies were shocked at the Ustasha's treatment of its victims.

One has to remember that the alleged assault were on Croat citizens and not Serbs from Serbia proper. What occured in Split is an internal concern and has nothing to do with Serbia or any other country..(Bam Bam, 29 January 2012 00:40)

LOL what's the matter "Bam Bam"? A little shocked Croats were being Croats? A few days ago you were perfectly happy lumping all Serbs with those hooligans who attacked Croat fans after giving the Nazi salute at a game, and now because it happened in Croatia, you're all about not making it a big issue. How does being an "internal concern" make it any less? In Serbia, Croat visitors are attacked after making provocative gestures. In Croatia, ethnic Serb citizens are attacked for being, well, Serbs. And in Split, a city known for its parochial racism and novi NDH mutants. And if it's an internal concern, why are you, some bloke living in the US commenting on it? :)

And don't call them "Orthodox Croats". That's NDH-talk, which is never looked at positively by intelligent people :)

You don't know anything......
Learn history!
Split is located in DALMATIA! not in Croatia!
And we know in That in the Austrian empire's province Dalmatia lived Serbs and Italians, 90% of the people where catholic! Meaning the people who where ones Serb and Italian became Croats, First they have nothing to do with people from Zagreb, they don't even speak the same dialect. Next if Yugoslavia and communist weren't there, then there wouldn't be a break up!
And next shut up about greater Serbia, Ask yourselves why Is there a greater Croatia now? Consisting of the provinces Istra/Dalmatia/Slavonia/Krajina and Croatia! Why are you whining about a greater Serbia hypocrites...
If Serbs where not Croatized/made Bosnian/made Yugoslav and Montenegrin, then In Krajina/dalmatia/slavonia/BIH/MNE and serbia would serbs live as a big majority 90%.

I am not making up things, I base this on information from books that Croatian writers and intellectuals wrote in the 19th century, who they thought Croats where! SO if you are not from around Zagora(Zagreb) then you aren't a true Croat and you are just a ex Serb/Italian/German/Hungarian/Slovenian!

Have a nice day!

In Amsterdam there is a bar for Czechs AND Slovaks. As they almost speak the same language. No problems there.

(Ron, 28 January 2012 19:24) Ron the Czechs did not try to steal the Slovaks land in a criminal war mongering aggression and everything and anything they could get their hands on. Nor did they ethnic cleans them ,murder ,rape destroy them like the Serbs Serbia did on many of their unarmed neighbouring republics. Quite the opposite Czechs and Slovaks divided all their assets equably heck even USSR did which is quite amazing. http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2011&mm=04&dd=27&nav_id=74019 It is amazing that even the other Ex Yugo country's are still trying to be civil with the Serbs and Serbia with all their crookedness going on even today.

But Czechs and Slovaks were civilized enough and they elected politicians who were wise enough (a Vaclav Havel and not a Slobodan Milosevic) to arrange a peaceful split of their former common country, unlike the people in ex-YU.

I wonder whether the Croat police will be as zealous in apprehending these cretins, as their Serbian counterparts were in Novi Sad. Why can't the Serbs be as civilised as the Croats, who are after all on the cusp of joining the EU. I don't know, what's the world coming to!
