People often look at NATO as the USA. It's not, it really isn't. The UK and France are huge players in NATO as well. The USA isn't able to bully those countries. France disagreed with the reaction after 9/11 and people in the USA were angry. Remember the images of americans buying french wine just to poor it out? Silly.

So I guess my point is, stop calling NATO the USA. It does have a couple other large players. Hopefully Serbia won't join that group which has declared themselves the world police.

Nato apologizes? well then, ...then it is all okay, and they can go on like they always do, right? I mean...the have apologized, hey.

An apology by NATO, I mean, THAT changes everything, right?

interesting, that nobody in the western media-world is asking for the perpetrators to be turned over to the Hague...

NATO doesn't care about civilians, only political gains on the American agenda. That is why I for one believe that the UK should pull out of NATO and think Serbia would be stupid to join this American organisation.

I think that Mladic should follow NATOs suit - just apologize - upps my dear fellow muslims, i was hunting down muslim radicals, but as they were intermingled with "moderate" slav muslims sth went wrong - why should he not be pardoned? After all those are Muslims who create problems in Europe(in India, Thailand, Philippines, Uganda etc) and not Serbs... and of course liberal leftists!

Funny that civilian casualties are accepted from american bombs and bullets but during the balkan war civilian deaths caused by serbs were considered a war crime.

NATO countries have the decency to apologize when they're wrong.
Serbia does not!
(metrod, 30 May 2011 17:31)

Wrong. Serbia has admitted their mistakes in many cases. And of course NATO has to admit their mistakes, no one is walking on NATO soil and slaughtering their people like they are doing to all of the countries they are invading.

A NATO apology is like crocodile tears. They may send out some statement, but the truth of the matter is that they do not care. In addition, NATO would be apologizing constantly because they are wrong almost always (they just do not see it or they just ignore it). Serbia has apologized, something that cannot be said of many of the other Yugoslav republics. There should be no more Serbian apology unless the ones I mentioned above will finally do the same, which is not going to happen. One reason is that if they do they not only admit guilt and fault, but they will also imply involvement of the Western masters/sponsors and that is something that they do not want for some obvious reasons.

so sorry

Regarding the comment that 'NATO countries have the decency to apologize when they're wrong. Serbia does not!'

I think this might be a cultural difference. To my Serb family and friends the attitude was why do something you need to apologise for later?

Have you seen many Greek Americans posting on B92?I am talking about the ones that never miss the opportunity to brand the Serbians as genociders and ignore their own military and civilian leaders that are committing rendition, torture, illegal imprisonment and mass murder of civilians.

I bet none of those Americans has the balls to condemn those actions in fear of losing his dwindling pension.Uncle Joseph is watching from hell.

This is a repost because of a typo error in my last word. Apologies.

"Afghan officials said the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) had killed 12 children and two women. The raid was in response to a Taliban attack on U.S. marines in the area."

Where are all those human rights organizations and self-righteous campaingers from Yankee Land and the rest of the West? Those very same hypocrites who screamed bloody murder over Libya, Syria, China etc? Their silence over these wanton murder of defenceless women and children is utterly DEAFENING!

He said a marine had been killed by insurgents, and they had carried on firing from a compound. Troops decided to carry out an airstrike that same day.

Sounds like NATO is up to the same old NAZI tricks they used against Serbians. For every soldier killed they go and kill 100 civilians. NATO is very successful at killing civilians.

Leonidas

I can't see any of those Balkanite emigres in US posting any comments about the war crimes committed by the US and nato forces in Afganistan. Is it because they're scared of their "Homeland Security" which reportedly is using technology to monitor the internet, tap phones, using camera's to record images - welcome to George Orwell.

Civilian carnage in Afganistan apart,I think the world will see in the next few months that Osama's ficticious death is likley to be the perfect excuse for the withdrawal of US & nato troops and since there was no military victory in sight the US was in need of a 'triumph', to have a sense of it all being worthwhile,no evidence, no body,no problem.
