Death toll lower from traffic accidents in Serbia

Interior Minister Ivica Dačić says the number of traffic accidents fell by 17,141 since the introduction of the country's new Road Traffic Safety Law.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the seatbelt rules kinda half-arsed? People in the front seat must have their seal belts on but not the back seat?!? Its scary to see kids jumping around while their parents safily crusie down the Cacak express at 150 KM/hr.

I think its something to do with driver skills tbh, my country has the highest accident rate in the world but some of the strictest safety rules (all seatbelts, max 100kph, car tested for safety every 6 months), So chances are its got more to do with the reqs for getting a liscense then it does for seatbelts(which is still important)

19% lives not lost is a significant thing. It's a good start but there is further to go.

How can anyone know that they have been saved pain because of these law change? They cannot of course.

Anyone who criticises the laws or who still drives like a pig (as has been very common) is probably blind to the fact that good road safety laws may have already saved their very own lives.
