Well said Roberto. True heroes are the ones that stand up in full view , and all too often pay the ultimate price. Unlike all of our extremists friends , who only find courage in the anonymity of the internet.
One group are true heroes, the other are true cowards.

I don't get what violent protest is supposed to acomplish. It's obvious that Lukashenko has over 50% support... perhaps not 80%... maybe 65%, still a figure that dominates. It's like Evo Morales in Bolivia, the dude always gets over 60% no matter who he is up against. The people support that, and those opposing are a fringe element. :/

--Tamara Sidorenko, a lawyer for candidate Uladzimer Nyaklyaeu, who was badly beaten on election night, has expressed fears over his health in prison, saying he has suffered an attack of hypertension in which his blood pressure soared.

Large-scale protests, accusing the authorities of rigging the election in favor of Lukashenko, broke out in the evening of the December 19 election, and more than 600 people were detained.

The EU and the U.S. have condemned the election process and the arrests, while Russia has supported Lukashenko's rule.--

I wish to express my solidarity with the opposition forces of belarus, and ag. the fascists (Lukashenko) who remain in power by brute force, as usual, compliments of Uncle Joe... as they proudly carry on his mantle.

what a surprise that all the comments here, so far, are openly pro-fascist. people never fail to continue that ugly political line here in this arena.

to the demonstrators and opposition candidates: we are with you in spirit.

This comment is written because I want to congratulate the President of Belarus on his Re-Election.

I know that I should have written to do this earlier, but I was genuinely busy with researching and writing articles on Wikileaks and associated matters at other Websites.

The Belarusian voters have given the President of Belarus a Mandate to continue the fine job he has already accomplished in regards to the Economy, and job creation.

The record of the President of Belarus is both formidable and impressive, and it should be the envy of some of his neighbours.

I did not endorse any of all the Candidates in the Belarusian Election, because as a Slav, the only Slavic country I comment on with regards to my opinion on how they should vote is my own country of Serbia.

I have said on several occasions, that regardless of how good a job the European Union allows the Subservient DS led Government to do, it would be wise Not to vote for the DS, the G-17 Plus, and the LDP at the next Election.
