Party to sue daily over "hit order" report

Opposition SRS official Dragan Todorović said that his party would be suing daily Blic over a <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2010&mm=06&dd=29&nav_id=68116" class="text-link" target= "_blank">report</a> which claims that SRS leader had ordered an assassination.

This has all the hall marks of a smear campaign against Seslj and the Radical party. Seselj is not stupid and I seriously doubt he would stoop to this measure, but it may give an excuse to keep him in prison or if released lock him up in Serbia.

I highly suspect that Nikolic is a “Judas Goat” where he has set up a new party that will lead Serbia to a new era (they are the same slogans as Tadic’s group before coming to power) but in reality the SNS will only sever as a backstop in case Tadic’s lot fall over or will keep any opposition party from coming to power by creating division amongst them just before an election.

To our Serbian brothers I suggest that they keep a very close eye on this group and not put too much trust – I could be wrong and I hope I am, but years of experience say otherwise.

It's too early to tell for certain if this is serious OR just tabloid fodder that went too far but knowing Serbian politics, it's unsubstantiated mudslinging by DS & SNS at Seselj who was right about the EU being scam.

Looks like our friend at the Hague has been in touch.
Hardly a ringing endorsement from Vucic, a man whose relationship with Seselj was like father son.

I'd say that Blic already spoke to Nikolic / senior SNS sources to confirm this story, knowing it could go to court.

But something here stinks. I'm not sure what exactly is the idea, but there is more than meets the eye.

It might be that if Seselj is released from the Hague then he will face jail immediately in Serbia. On the other hand that seems a little too obvious. Perhaps SNS want to make a clean break from their past once and for all? There is something else at play...?

The media will be watching and looking for interviews with Nikolic like hawks...
